We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you first clarify how the federal taxes were paid to the IRS?
For example were the federal taxes withheld from your paycheck or taxes you paid directly to the IRS (estimated tax payments)?
Then, can you confirm how this was entered into the TurboTax software? You may want to go back to double-check the entries in the system.

You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

No. Your extra withholding amount will not erode your Child Tax Credit. It has no affect on your Child Tax Credit. In order to claim the NON REFUNDABLE $2,200 Child Tax Credit, you must have enough tax liability to claim it. Tax liability is shown on line 18 of your form 1040. Your tax liability is based on your income and is not affected by your withholdings. So if you have 3 kids you would need to have $6,600 in income tax liability to fully claim the entire credit. If you had $5000 withheld, but had $6,600 in tax liability, the child tax credit would wipe out your tax liability and reduce it to $0. You would then get your $5,000 back that you had withheld. With the child tax credit, you will not get back more than you paid in. If you have less tax liability than the total Child Tax Credit then you may be eligible for the Additional Child Tax Credit. This could allow you to get more back than you paid in.
If you tax liability is less than that, then you could be eligible for up to $1,700 per child of the REFUNDABLE Additional Child Tax Credit. To calculate the additional child tax credit you would subtract $2,500 from your total earned income and multiple that by 15%. So if your total earned income was $18,500 you would subtract $2,500 and get $16,000. You would then multiply that by 15% and get $2,400 which would be the maximum Additional child tax credit you would be eligible for.
So the maximum amount you could get would be $2,400 if your income was $20,500 regardless of the number of children you have. If you had only one qualifying child, then you would be limited to the $1,700 per child.
To find your Form 1040 in TurboTax select the following:
TurboTax Online Version:
Select Tools
Go to Tax Tools
Select Preview My 1040 (or go to the print center)
TurboTax Desktop Version:
You can simply switch to forms mode

Yes, because you can prepare only one TurboTax Online return per account, you would create a new TurboTax account for the mock federal return to accompany the Oregon state tax return. TurboTax Desktop allows you to create as many returns as you need, but you would still create a new return for the joint information.

I've read for 2025 tax year filed in 2026, you can deduct a portion of the charitable contributions (Cash) in addition to receiving the standard deduction. When I entered my charitable contributions into Turbo Tax, it says (your standard deduction covers the charitable contribution). I thought charitable deductions COULD be included this year. Don't seem that Turbo Tax recognized this additional deduction. Am I doing something wrong?

You answer "The whole year" (all the time).
Also answer "The whole year" when asked how many of these months were in the US.
For tax purposes, she lived with you all year, as her presence abroad was only a temporary absence. A semester away at school, even abroad, is no different than a week at Disney World. It's a temporary absence from your home, her full year residence.

The 1098-T is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your tax return. However receipt of a 1098-T frequently means you are either eligible for a tuition credit or possibly your student has taxable scholarship income.
If you claim the tuition credit, you do need to report that you got one or that you qualify for an exception (the TurboTax interview will handle this)
You claim the tuition credit, or report scholarship income, based on your own financial records, not the 1098-T. In the 1098-T screen, click on the link "What if this is not what I paid the school" underneath box 1. You will then be able to enter the actual amounts paid. You will also reach a screen that allows you to adjust the scholarship amount for "amounts not awarded for 2024 expenses".
Or if you find it easier, just change the numbers in boxes 1& 5 to what your records show. The 1098-T that you enter in TT is not sent to the IRS.

If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk
The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/19/2026
