I spoke to reps at both IRS and SSA. IRS confirmed that the W2 I submitted via QEF in Jan 2025 is tagged as TY2023. SSA says they have no record of that W2. So this seems like an Intuit QEF bug to me.

When you file, you file using your ITIN number.  Then when you enter the W2 you edit the social security number to reflect the number on your w2 and any other info.  You may end up having to mail in the return.  The IRS allows this.  https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/individual-taxpayer-identification-number-itin-reminders-for-tax-professionals Tax returns filed with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number reporting wages paid are required to show the Social Security Number under which the wages were earned.  This creates an identification number (ITIN/SSN) mismatch.  In the past, returns with this mismatch could only be filed on paper.  Due to programming changes the IRS' e-file system can now accept these returns.  The taxpayer's correct ITIN should be used as the identifying number at the top of Form 1040.  When inputting W-2 information, the SSN should be entered exactly as shown on the Form W-2 issued by the employer.  It is now possible to e-file a return with an ITIN/SSN mismatch.

Review your tax return to be sure. You can review the .pdf. and you can view your Schedule 2, Part II, Line 8 to see the penalty. Instructions below will show you how to do both.   You have access to all forms when you choose to print your return in TurboTax Online/Mobile.  However you are required to pay before printing, but do not have to file until you are ready. Can I print a copy of my return in TurboTax Online before filing? If you are using TurboTax Desktop you can switch to Forms and review all forms and worksheets.   From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) Select Tax Tools On the drop-down select Tools On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary  On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040  For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms

I had the same issue and could not make the error go away. I've had the vehicle longer than 5 years, and it would be fully depreciated under both the regular and AMT methods. But alas ... I could not make the software do what was required. Since TurboTax had this error last year, I'm not sure why it has not yet been corrected. The federal form had no errors, but the California form would not let me e-file since I could not correct the "error". I attempted to make a change using the Forms mode - which had to be accessed in a way differently than prescribed - but this did not work either. Then I attempted to make the change using another thread's suggestion of marking the vehicle as used for personal purposes only and then using the "sale of business property" but that was a bigger mess for me. Please fix the program.

Filing a tax return is based on if you have a tax liability and taxable income or not.  If you do not have taxable income, or a tax liability, then you do not need to file a return. If you filed a return and the numbers on it are incorrect, you do need to Amend Your Return.   If you did not file previous years, then it is not amending it is simply filing.  You would need to use download the past year programs to file.  You are correct, you cannot efile, you would need to print and mail the returns.  Again, if you have a tax liability, if you do not file, you will continue to accrue interest and penalties the longer you wait.   An unfiled return or a fraudulent return has no statute of limitations so it is best to file.

I’ve been using TurboTax for like 10 years. Please ask developers to add this in. Would be a big part of me leaving TurboTax to a regular accountant if I have to go back and calculate this on my own. If you have all the precision years tax return files from TurboTax this is nothing more than a calculation instead of significant work on the customer.

Make sure you didn't add your full income in each state slot when entering your W-2 forms in the federal section.    Pennsylvania (PA) does not have a reciprocal agreement with Delaware (DE). You will pay tax in DE for the income that was derived from that state. PA will give you a credit for taxes paid to DE on the same income because as a resident, all worldwide income must be included and taxed on your PA return.  See the information below for the details.   State Returns - Your resident state requires you to include all worldwide income. Assume both states require income tax returns to be filed:  Report the income on each state return that is from the nonresident state Report it on your resident state and receive credit for taxes paid to another state. Credit for taxes paid to another state is allowed by a resident state when the same income is being taxed to another state.  Your resident state does not want you to pay tax twice on the same income. The credit that is allowed will be the lesser of: the tax liability actually charged by the nonresident state, OR the tax liability that would have been charged by your resident state In most cases complete your nonresident state first.

You cannot add your car you bought in 2025 to your 2024 return if it is for business, you will need to wait until you file your 2025 return. If it is for personal use, including going to work as an employee, unless you are itemizing and taking the sales tax deduction, your car does not go on your return.  Again, since you bought it in 2025, you cannot put it on your 2024 return.  You would have to wait to take the sale tax deduction until 2025.
