I am in the same boat because both my back up external drive (which is now mysteriously empty and not because of password protection) and my previous hard drive are gone. My MacBook Pro died in December and despite assurances, Apple destroyed my hard drive) which I would NEVER have sent in had I known. This is a HUGE defect in Turbotax.

since this forum got all sorts of whacky when i approved the answer: My original question was with regards to a Traditional IRA from 2023 that was not caught in time in 2024. I asked if 2023 end result was to pay 6%, and asked if 2024 was the year i needed to fill out the 1099-R manually, or if i should be waiting. If manual, what options. I may have also asked if the 6% applied to 2024 at some point, but no longer recall. The excess was removed before the deadline if it had occured in 2024, but because it occured in 2023 it goes year to year, so the 6% applies again. The answer given that was marked as best answer was helpful to my situation, and i hope with this post re-instated that it helps someone else down the road get the answers they need as well.

I just tested this on my Mac using exactly the same steps. I have both the beginning and ending inventory entry fields.
See screenshot below:
I don't know why you are not getting the Beginning Inventory field on your Mac. If you were able to resolve this by entering it in Forms, then your issue appears to be resolved.
If you have trouble with any other entry fields, try some basic troubleshooting steps:
You might try saving and exiting the return, exiting TurboTax and reopening the return.
Try rebooting your device.
See this help article for troubleshooting steps for Mac issues.
If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:
See this help article for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.

To the best of my knowledge that will not work.
Once the IRS has received a tax return then it will always reject another tax return with the same Social Security and Name for the same tax year.

It depends. Form 1099-NEC indicates self employment income, receiving income for services you perform as an independent person or contractor and not an employee. The business name is your name and your address. The income would be subject to personal income tax and self employment tax (social security and medicare taxes). If you have any ordinary, necessary and reasonable expenses for your type of business you can also enter expenses that allowed you to earn the income.
What self employment expenses can I deduct?
Personal income tax will be the rate at which your income combined falls in the tax tables (up to $100,000 in taxable income).
Self employment tax is your net profit from your business (income from Form 1099-NEC less expenses) is calculated as follows:
net profit x .9235 x .153 = self employment tax.
Personal income tax and self employment tax will be your combined tax liability on line 24, Form 1040.
If you have more details and questions please add them here and we will help.

I have the exact same issue. Do we know if the mailing address provided is truly wrong? Perhaps, the people who would normally be at that address to receive our mail have been fired?? I mailed my 8453 form and supporting documents on 4/7/25, certified. USPS tracking says the same as you, Available for Pickup, meaning can't be delivered. I also mailed, certified, my Q1 estimated taxes, to a different address, on 4/7/25. That hasn't been delivered yet either. Headed to Louisville, KY. That address may have weather problems. USPS says "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility". I'm pretty sure the payment will be received and cashed.....

Curious when Intuit will realize charging the filing fee for states is a major lost revenue oppty. I will NEVER pay a filing fee to save me state processing costs. So instead of nickel and diming the customers, Intuit should be selling to the states to cover these costs/fees to save the states money and improve their customer (us!) satisfaction with this product. First tax software company to do this will own the market !!!!!!!

In general. you are not taxed on workers' compensation benefits received for a work-related injury or illness. However, if you receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits in addition to workers' compensation, a portion of those benefits may be taxable if the combined payments exceed certain income thresholds, according to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
When a taxpayer qualifies to receive both workers' compensation and Social Security benefits (or SSDI), then the Social Security Administration (SSA) typically reduces the recipient's benefits through a calculation that takes into account all of the benefits the beneficiary is receiving from all government agencies, federal and state. This reduction is described as an offset.
If the total amount of these benefits exceeds 80% of your average current earnings, the excess amount is deducted from your Social Security benefit.
The IRS taxes you on the FULL amount of the Social Security Benefit, even if it has been reduced by Workers Compensation.
The amount listed in Box 5 of your Form SSA-1099 is entered into TurboTax. If the offset reduced your benefits, this would already be taken into account when the SSA calculated your Box 5.

This is due to a potential mismatch in form W-2, Box 18 (local wages) value on your state and/or local return. Double check Box 18 (local wages) of each of your form W-2 in the Wages & Salaries topic under Income or Federal. Change Box 18 to ensure it matches what is on your W-2, and follow the steps to file your state and/or local returns.
Try using the amount in Box 5/Medicare wages and tips for Box 18/Local wages. For Box 20 Locality name, enter the primary local tax location name.
