True, but not true. Check the "Charitable Organization Worksheet". Cash donations should be noted there and broken out by date.

We do not know what your W-2 or your paystub looks like. Perhaps you paystub displays 'overtime premium' or 'overtime'.
For tax years 2025 through 2028, individuals who receive qualified overtime compensation may deduct the pay that exceeds their regular rate of pay.
For many, the amount is the “half” portion of “time-and-a-half” compensation that is required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and reported on a Form W-2, Form 1099, or other specified statement furnished to the individual.
As an example, if the employee’s regular rate of pay is $20 per hour and the employee worked one hour of overtime, the employee’s overtime pay would be $30 ($20 x 1.5).
The employee’s qualified overtime would be $10 ($30 overtime pay less $20 regular pay). In this example, qualified overtime for deduction purposes is equal to one-third of total overtime: $30 / 3 = $10.
Referring to the example above, if the paystub displays 'overtime' of $30, the paystub is displaying the regular wage plus the qualified overtime for deduction purposes.
Referring to the example above, if the paystub displays 'overtime premium' of $10, this would be the qualified overtime for deduction purposes.
For the deduction for qualified overtime:
Maximum annual deduction is $12,500 ($25,000 for joint filers).
Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $150,000 ($300,000 for joint filers).
The deduction reduces federal income tax liability, it does not exempt overtime pay from Social Security and Medicare taxes. Employees will still owe these taxes on their overtime earnings.
Taxpayers filing as married filing separately are not eligible for the deduction.
The deduction is available for both itemizing and non-itemizing taxpayers.

I have not updated to Window 11 and with all of the issues they are now having with it, I am not changing. As a 15 Plus user of Turbo tax, I will be moving on to H&R Block. Not only will I save about $80 in filing, I will not have to deal with Windows 11 issues unless Turbo Tax comes up with a quick solution fast. I think Intuit is trying to backdoor everyone into updating their systems has backfired.

I have a question related to Tax filing as well, I was an international student in a university from Jan 1st, 2025 - April 30, 2025. So, am I considered as a full-time student during 2025 year? My end date on my I20 is April 30, 2025, so this doesn't meet rule of 5months and only graduation ceremony took place on May 2nd, 2025 but not registered to any classes or school. Could anyone please answer to my question. Thank you.

In the 1099R summary section, I cannot enter any data. I have several financial institutions for which I would like to enter data, and the screen only shows each one with a "Needs Review". If I continue, Turbotax just asks me a couple or three questions and then I am out of this section. I have updated turbotax, cleared my windows cache, etc. What else can I do? Thanks.

Do you not see the option?
When you get to the screen that says, "Get your federal refund faster" and it gives the option of Fast deposit to Credit Karma or a bank account, select "No thanks".
The next screen is "How would you like to receive your federal refund?" If you are eligible for the Refund Advance, you will see this as an option.
The Refund Advance is not available to everyone.
Here are a couple things to check:
If you are using a TurboTax partner affiliate link to use the software, the Refund Advance will not be available.
If you select the 5 Day Early Refund Delivery, you will not see the Refund Advance option, but you can return to the refund selection page and find all the options listed.
See this resource for more information:

I updated this weekend Jan 24 (Desktop version). I had a lot of trouble with the update screen freezing. I followed your advice and cleared the history and cookies on my browser and shutdown the computer several times. After several attempts, the update was completed. Yes! The 1099 section became available. Thank you for the information.

@user17694432161 What is your filing status? Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, Head of Household or Single?

Sorry---if your return has already been e-filed and accepted for processing by the IRS it is too late to seek the advance loan.

Thanks, that is essentially what I did to correct the problem. I was just trying to suggest better wording for TT to use. It is misleading. It actually doesn't use the word "total" but when it asks for the RMD, total is implied. This it my first year in dealing with this so it is new to me. Thanks for responding.
