Thank you for the quick response.  For the life of me, I can't find where that question is asked.   Could you point me to the exact spot where I can check how I've answered that?  When I look through the section about my business, I see the expenses I have entered and a bunch of questions about the business, but nothing about whether it is "at risk".

TurboTax Online will use the simplified method to determine the taxable portion for box 2a of your CSA 1099-R.   Presume that:   Monthly payments were received,  Payments started in 2024, and  That box 7 is code 7. You will need to know:   The amount of the employee contributions (should be in box 9b), The date the annuity started, The number of months that payments were received in 2024,  The age of the recipient when the annuity started, The age of other beneficiaries (if there are any), and  Was the recipient under the retirement age for the plan. Follow these steps:   Down the left side of the screen, click Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income. Click on the down arrow to the right of Retirement Plans and Social Security. Click to the right of IRA 401(k) Pension Plan Withdrawal (1099-R). At the screen Who gave you a 1099-R, select  Office of Personnel Management (CSA 1099-R). At the screen Any Periodic Payments? select  Yes, got regular payments from this retirement account. At the screen Payment Start Year select Yes started getting payments in 2024. At the screen Let’s figure out how much is taxable, select I need to figure out how much of this money I took out is taxable. At the screen Enter Annuity Information enter required information.  Plan Cost should be in box 9b. At the screen Enter Ages enter required information.   View the entries down the left side of the screen at Tax Tools. Select Print Center. Select Print, save or preview this year's return.

Thanks @MarilynG1, but you already shared this link on the 2nd page of the replies and again on this page, just above my post you just replied to.   As I explained in detail after your first post, the information that you're linking is neither helpful nor relevant for the problem we're running into.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.   You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
Can I deducted this or is this a tax break

Where do I find my AGI?   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947   Your 2023 tax return shows your 2022 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.   Form 1040        line 11   If entering the amount from your 2023 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.   You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2023 AGI may not be in the system.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.
You can request a Wage and Income transcript from the IRS at Transcript types for individuals and ways to order them, but note they may not be available for 2024.

Can you clarify "a husband and who are each account owners"? We are married filing jointly but the 529 plans are under my name. I don't believe there is an option to have a second account owner, only beneficiaries and successors. What meets the definition of us both being account owners? If my spouse is not an account owner, are we able to claim $10,000 for married filing jointly or only $5,000 since only one of us is an account owner?

Sorry--TurboTax no longer supports or provides updates or state downloads for 2020 software.   If you need to prepare a 2020 state return, you might be able to obtain the forms from the state to prepare by hand.  It is too late to get a refund for a 2020 tax return.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0
