It is too late to e-file an extension request. The deadline to do that was April 15.   If you live in one of the disaster areas with an automatic extension, the IRS will identify you by the zip code on your tax return.   If you need a longer extension until October 15, you can mail in a paper extension request if you get it postmarked by midnight tonight. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf

I am in a panic. I am experiencing the same thing. I enter values and the summary will not update. Income shows “needs review” despite it being completed, 1099 income shows 2022 but 2023 is blank even though they are entered and tabulated (I assume since it changed) in the due summary. It’s happening on every summary now. Ive updated, reset, closed etc. I really dont want to start over with hours and hours in this but I may have to.  Is there a fix to this!!? This is the desktop version since there is no online version available.

As indicated by the code-2 2024 Form 1099-R, it seems that in 2024 you converted only $6,298.87 in 2024.  Since you made $7,000 of contributions in 2024 for 2024, this seems to imply that your traditional IRA suffered investment losses before the conversion, resulting in $1,701 of your basis in nondeductible traditional IRA contributions being on line 14 of your 2024 Form 8606 to be carried forward to 2025, with only $6,299 of basis being applied to your 2024 conversion.   Since you made $2,000 of your traditional IRA contribution for 2024 by way of a recharacterized Roth IRA contribution, this implies that you made only an additional $5,000 in direct traditional IRA contributions in 2024 for 2024.   The $1,000 contributed in 2025 for 2024 cannot have been converted to Roth in 2024.  That conversion, assuming that one will be or already has been done in 2025, will be reportable on your 2025 tax return and will use some of the basis carried forward from 2024 to reduce the taxable amount, probably to zero.
I got a federal tax refund but I owe state so will it automatically be deducted from my account?

see this link item 2 https://blog.securepaystubs.com/posts/social-security-tax-for-employers-a-complete-guide-to-compliance/  have you approached the employer of this issue and what did they say. if anything? your recourse would be to contact the iRS but you might also need a lawyer to recover any amounts illegally withheld.   you may be subject to federal income tax withholding. so are you sure this isn't what the employer is doing.

Why do you not have a SSN or a Tax ID?  Is the childcare provider refusing to give it to you?   They may not want to give out their Social Security number, but they can get a Tax ID instead if they are worried about identity theft issues.   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/taxpayer-identification-numbers-tin https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/how-to-apply-for-an-ein     If they are refusing to provide the information because they do not want to pay tax on their earnings:   When a childcare provider will not give you a SSN or Tax ID   If they still refuse to provide an EIN or SSN, send your provider a W-10 (Request for Taxpayer Information and Identification Number).  You can get a copy of the W-10 by clicking here: W-10 Form & Instructions  Complete as much of the form as you can and send it via certified mail (after making copies for yourself).   If the provider does not respond within 10 business days, you can still file your return.  However, you won't be able to e-file.  Print and mail in your return, along with an explanation and a copy of the W-10 you sent your provider.     (And you might need to start looking for a new childcare provider....)

not sure about TT options but you can take TT out of the payment loop - you should have an option to mail a check and then pay directly online at https://www.irs.gov/payments   Fed will debit your account quickly, if you put a payment in today it will debit tomorrow most likely.  states may vary but mine took a few days to debit.   this site also has info on penalties/interest, payment plans etc.
We had a substantial amount of daycare expenses in 2024 so we could work and Turbo keeps asking for an EIN or SNN, but there is not any. How do I proceed with the form 2441?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.   You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst

of course, Turbotax can't help. it is merely software that can be used to prepare your return based on what you enter. It has no access to IRS records or does it have the authority to act on your behalf.  yes, it's happened to others. many others. even worse sometimes taxpayers are told the IRS needs additional time.  Don't know if the employee firings are in part to blame.    see if the iRS Tax advocate service can help https://www.taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/can-tas-help-me-with-my-tax-issue/    your other recourse would be to hire a tax pro or use Audit Defense and give them authority to act on your behalf. however, the cost might exceed the benefit and there is no guarantee they can do anything to speed up your refund.  since its just 9 more days at this point i would suggest being patient.      t

You have to print it out and file it by mail.   And it has to be postmarked today!!   You only need to file Form 4868 if you want an extension through 10/15/25.    You can print the form below.      If you live in a qualified disaster area and you file between 04/15/25 and 05/01/25, the IRS will not impose a penalty.   If you need an extension through 10/15/25, you must file the extension on paper.    See Further Tax Filing Extensions Available   Form 4868 and instructions included
