If one spouse is over 67, and one under 67, it looks like WI Retirement Income Subtraction is limited to over 67 spouse's retirement income, up to $24,000. As of 2/26 update, TT is not dealing with this correctly.   From WI DOR https://www.revenue.wi.gov/Pages/TaxPro/2026/TaxPractitonerFall2025QandA.aspx#:~:text=Stats.%2C%20provides%20that%20both%20spouses,forward%20to%20future%20tax%20years. If one spouse of a married couple is not age 67, can the married couple still get up to $48,000 subtraction for the new retirement income subtraction? No, sec. 71.05(6)(b)54m., Wis. Stats., provides that both spouses must be at least 67 years of age before the close of the taxable year (and file a joint return) to claim a subtraction up to $48,000. The married couple would be limited to a subtraction up to $24,000 based solely on the qualified retirement income received by the spouse that is at least 67 years of age before the close of the taxable year. [emphases added]

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

My husband and I are largely retired although I have roughly $5000 of self-employment income and we have roughly $100K of taxable income from Traditional to Roth IRA conversions. We have enough self-employed health insurance deductions to zero out my income and that's what Turbotax Deluxe is doing.  Rather than deduct all the expenses, we'd like for there to be some net income to allow a Roth IRA contribution (which we've already made).   How do I tell Turbotax that I don't want to deduct all of the self-employed health insurance expenses?   Note we've entered the Roth contribution but Turbotax isn't using that information to reduce the deduction or even to flag that there's an inconsistency when it checks the return.

I prepared my 2025 New Jersey State Tax Return and submitted the return using Turbo Tax Deluxe and on a Windows 11 Laptop.   When I look at the pdf, Line 40b. Indicate your residency status during 2025 (fill in only one)       Homeowner    Tenant      Both, I do not see any Box checked off. I am a Homeowner and started by copying over my 2024 Turbo Tax Return file.     Is this a bug in the Turbo Tax Program? Will This cause my return to get flagged?   How would I report this to Turbo Tax?
The question wasn't related to e-file, but to the form not calculating correctly.  There is a bug in the form.

The City of Portland's own portal for collecting the Arts tax was down over the weekend, Feb 28-Mar1, for maintenance. But it's back up this morning, Mar 2, yet TurboTax attempts to eFile this form are still met with:   Your Transmission Didn't Go Through TurboTax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following reason: Transmission failed: Tax Year 2025 transmissions are not available.). TurboTax is not ready to process Tax Year 2025 for this return. Looks like we've had a technical hiccup. Try e-filing again. If that doesn't work, you can print your return and file by mail   Getting really tired of all of the glitches, bugs, and awful support in this year's TurboTax. Been using it for eons, and this is by far the worst it's ever been.

My taxes are done and in running Smart Check got an error message that doesn't seem to make sense.  Error says Smart Check returns an error "Tax Summary: Itemref is marked as estimated"     No such line exists on Tax Summary   I have also clicked on all of the line items and nothing is marked as estimated    Also I have looked at all forms in my set of 1040 forms and not have any estimated tax markers.   Those usually would be shown in red.    I have none of these    Is this a TurboTax issue?   Please offer any advice if others have experienced this   Don

Do not click on anything that says "amend" if the return has not ever been filed.   You can still make changes to the return; you might need to click on Add a State to get you back in to make changes.  You do not really have to add a state return, but that trick will let you back in to the return to make the changes you need to make.

I am getting that same message with the 2025 version of Turbo Tax.  I'm stuck.  How do we report this error to TurboTax for a quicker fix?
