Answer no. It is a question PA now is asking to all PA tax filers. There is no type of penalty for not having insurance in PA. It has no affect on your return. It is similar to how PA asks if you want to register to vote when you get your drivers license. It is just the state trying to make things easier for people to apply for while doing something else.

This is something you will have to work out with the IRS. You can call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday.
Also, if you can not verify him using last year's AGI, you may have to mail your tax return. If you can't find your AGI to e-file, you can print and mail your return.
You can follow this to mail your tax return: How do I file my return by mail?
You stated that your 2023 refund amount was not as expected, but you did receive one? So the return was processed for 2023.
You can use this IRS tool Where's My Refund? to check on the status of your refund. It provides updates regarding the processing of your tax return.
If your refund is missing, you can Use IRS Form 3911. This form notifies the IRS about the missing refund and initiates a 'trace' on your refund.
Check the "Where's My Refund" tool before filing Form 3911 because Form 3911 is only helpful if the IRS has processed your tax return and the refund has been issued.
If the "Where's My Refund?" tool confirms that your refund has been sent to you but you have not received it, you should consider filing Form 3911.
This article provides some more details about filing Form 3911. Click here for "Missing your Tax Refund Payment? File Form 3911"

Yes it was my state. I didn’t have any federal taken out of my checks because of my income being low of 7k during 2024. And didn’t owe any money on my taxes for federal. Could that be the reason why?

I am not a household worker. I earned $450 from one employer and $150 from another employer, too little for a W2. Where can I enter that income in TurboTax?

If you are using TurboTax Online, you will need to delete and re-enter your entries. When you go in to delete the information, the Forms don't show as 1098, they show as Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet.
To delete the forms:
Continue your return
Select Tax Tools option on the left menu
Select Tools
Under Other Helpful Links, choose Delete a form
Find the home mortgage interest worksheets and delete them
Once you delete the forms, reenter them. Make sure that you don't enter any 0 for any boxes that are blank.
Where do I enter my 1098 mortgage interest statement?
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, then switch to Forms mode by selecting the Forms icon. In the federal section, go to Home Interest Worksheet. Make sure that If lines 3b and 8 are 0- delete them.

Andrew, I was having a similar situation with my total gain not corresponding with my proceeds and cost basis. I found the answer. It was due to a disallowed wash sale. The math was taking from my Proceeds, adding the Disallowed Wash Sale to that figure. Then the cost basis was subtracted from that figure. The Disallowed Wash Sale was then subtracted from that new figure. That new amount was the total gain that was displaying in TurboTax.

Then go to the print center and make sure there is a check mark in the box for 2024 Pennsylvania Tax Return. Then you can print and mail your return. The filing instructions will print along with it.

It doesn't hurt to sign it. There is no clear guidance on this. I personally don't think it is required to be signed, but it won't hurt anything to sign it either.

I lived in Texas most of the year and moved to Maryland for last four months of the year. However my employer was in maryland for the full year (worked remote for the first part). I received two different W2s with two different state amounts in Box 16 showing the split between the different states. Do i file maryland part-year resident for state taxes? If so how can i bring in the second box 16 amount showing the amount earned from maryland when a texas resident? Can those be combined in the state filing somehow in Turbotax online?
