The payments of Mom's royalty income ($450) were suspended in 2025 upon her death during probate of the estate. They were paid to me as her only heir in 2026 after the rights were transferred to me.     Do the payments suspended during probate need to be reported as income on the estate's 2025 Form 1041?
Following. I have the same question. Not working as of 2/21/2026.

I was forced into the ExpertAssist, which I have no intention of using. The Do It Yourself option was not available, or if it was, was cleverly hidden by TurboTax to trick customers.   Later on, after spending a lot of time inputting tax info, I realized that I was being charged more for this service that I do not want. Yet apparently the only way to get rid of it is to clear the return and start over.   That is unacceptable!
You can indicate that it was a Qualified Charitable Distribution in one of the follow up questions after you enter your 1099-R.    See What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution? - TurboTax Support.

The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/25/2026   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...
When will the update to support QTP to ROTH IRA be made? Disappointed that this hasn't been resolved by late
Why hasn't TurboTax updated the amend section?

First, be sure that there is not an issue with your Internet connection or other issue with your computer that is affecting your ability to use ID.me. Try these troubleshooting steps:   Reboot your device. Check your firewall and antivirus settings. Make sure they aren't blocking any feature of the software. Please see this help article for more information. Clear cache and cookies  If you are still having trouble, you might also try running the Windows System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.   See this help center for IRS and ID.me if you haven't already done so.   If this issue ends up unreasonably delaying the processing of your tax return and issuing your refund, see this website for information on how to submit a request for assistance due to hardship with the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service.

This difference is due to when assets were placed in service. If an asset was placed in service between January 1 and March 31, then the 34% rate applies for year two.   The IRS requires the use of the Mid-Quarter Convention (MQ) if you bought too much equipment at the end of the year. Click IRS link for more information: (40% Rule).   The good news? You are getting a larger deduction this year than you did in year one.   You can check your Form 4562, looking for Column (e) Convention, which should read, MQ instead of HY (Half-Year).   Note: If you do not believe you placed more than 40% of your assets in service in Q4, double-check the "Date Placed In Service" for all of your assets to confirm.

I've tried to find the answer in the Community postings, but still confused. My hubby and I are over 65 and we received the $12,000 additional deduction in the OBBB.  (That is the only item in the OBBB that concerns us.) In the Turbo Tax 2025 South Carolina tax return, is the software automatically deducting the $12,000, or do I need to somehow do it manually? Thanks! BAH

Hello.  I am using Turbotax business and trying to distribute Capital gain net income to applicable beneficiaries.  Out of 9 beneficiaries only two should receive capital gain income.  The system is allocating the capital gain income to all 9 beneficiaries proportionately.  How can I stop gain from K-1s of beneficiaries not receiving or due income.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.    If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

@DeeDuckDave    Have you heard anything about importing a file of donated items into the online versions of TurboTax?   I know it doesn't work with the desktop versions but thought I read somewhere (on this board) that some sort of file could be imported (such as a TXF).   Do you have any insight?
TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
