I have an AMD processor and I installed Windows 11. It installs but will not get me to the license page. I had someone work with me for about 2 hours  (settings and etc). It states that there is an error and then closes. I called but there is not a real person to be found, no customer support.
I've compared the two options and the delta between them is like $1k. Quite the difference. Anyone else have this issue still?

I filed 2 days ago, federal accepted same day, NY state keeps coming back with this error code - twice so far. After reading all these replies I am glad I am not the only one because I was going crazy lol. Its a glitch and they better fix it soon. Maybe we should wait couple of day before refiling. Good luck everyone and happy tax season and I wish you all get your refunds as soon as possible. Cheers

Thank you, rounding to the nearest whole dollar fixed it.  But I can confirm its a TurboTax rounding error.  Before I did the rounding I reduced the amount in Box 14 by one cent, and TurboTax was happy.
Thank you for reporting your experience. We are currently investigating the issue and will provide updates as soon as possible.
Please clarify - what error message are you seeing?

You could try dragging your tax file onto your desktop and 'transfer' it from there.  Right-click on it to be sure it's a .tax2024 file.  If you saved it to a cloud drive (or other removable drive) earlier, it may have become corrupted.    You could open your TurboTax Desktop program for 2024, let it update, and re-save your tax file again to your desktop and try transferring.  Look in Documents > TurboTax for a backup copy, with a tilde sign in front of it that may transfer properly.    Here's more info on how to Transfer Desktop Return into TurboTax Online.   @willyeh

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

If the surrender value of your life insurance policy is less than the total premiums you paid with after-tax dollars, then it is not taxable.   When entering your form 1099-R, you can enter the total premiums paid in box 5, even if the payer left it blank, provided you have documentation to justify the amount.   The same applies to your state PA return.
Try contacting the issuer of the new 1099-R and have them verify their information.   Have them confirm the TIN and the name registered to that TIN with the IRS.

Glad to hear that your wait was worthwhile.  My experiences were not as good but you did get some good information.  Too bad we can't get some direct access and dialog with some of their software engineers to find and correct the issue.
This should be resolved. Make sure you have installed all updates. You may need to do a manual update.    Try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then try this link instructions.

I have used Turbo Tax Desktop for 30 years.  In the past I have been able to get support from a Turbo Tax agent about issues in their software (not tax advice).  This year all you can get is Ai generated responses that don't address the issue.  I have tried telephone support and been on hold for hours.  I have requested a call back and never received one.   I will continue to search the Community for support or buy different software.
