I have completed the information for my 2025 tax return for everything but the sale of my vacation home. I have used the Deluxe Edition of Turbo Tax. Now I am told that to record the sale of my vacation home I must use the Premier Edition. Is there any way to use the Deluxe Edition for the sale of vacation home ? If I must use the Premier Edition can I transfer the already completed information on my Deluxe edition to the Premier Edition or do I have to start all over again?

I just finished my Ohio School district filing and it calculated showed I owed a late payment penalty on the calculations sheet, but did 2 things wrong, it did not add in my estimated payment in the quarter it was paid so came up with a higher penalty than it should have been, then it never copied that penalty amount to the page 1 form to add into the tax due. I am having to force both these entries so I don't get a nastigram from the state. TurboTax YOU NEED TO FIX THIS.

Yes, a rollover to a Roth IRA from a 529 does not qualify for a Saver's Credit, so entering it as a Roth contribution on a tax return is not advised. The IRS will get Form 5498 reporting the rollover, and the beneficiary needs to track their own Roth basis to include this.
If there is no taxable amount of the 1099-Q distribution, you don't need to enter the 1099-Q in your return. TurboTax does not currently handle this situation clearly.
Here's more discussion from the community on reporting 529 to Roth IRA Contributions.

I am using TT Home and Business for Mac. I checked for updates earlier this morning (02/13/26) and none were available. After seeing the posting by RogerD1 (Employee Tax Expert) I just closed the program, reopened it, checked for updates (none were available), went to the appropriate section for entering the sale of a rental property and received the same message ("Depreciate and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner") that I have been getting since the last time I posted two weeks ago. As I mentioned then, the lack of accurate and reliable information being communicated by Intuit on this concern is simply hard to understand, impossible to effectively plan around, and represents poor customer service and relations. The availability date has been a moving target and the only accurate posting by a TurboTax Employee Expert thus far appears to be the one stating the functionality would be available after February 13th.

Opus 17 Level 15 If you would take the time to read what I wrote it might make more sense to you. An Uber driver gets tips, just like a cab driver. Unlike the cab driver, the Uber doesn't get a W-2. They might get a 1099-NEC if they received incentives and they would get a 1099-K if their regular pay and tips exceed $20K. In the absence of a 1099, they still report their income, including tips. They just report it as cash income. Tips are normal in the driver for hire industry, said industry is included in the IRS list of covered industries, tips are received and reported as income. The problem is that since they're not specifically included on a 1099, the Uber driver pays taxes on their reported tips while the cabbie. doesn't. Next time you do a return for an Uber driver take a look at their annual statement and you'll see what I mean.

My schwab online 1099 is available today. I tried multiple times to download into the Turbotax desktop. TT says it imported succesfully but no data is imported. I tried the online edition and import worked but I want to use the desktop version. I tried turning off my antivirus program and firewall (Norton) and still have the problem. Will turbotax fix the bug?

Thank-you for this response.....very helpful. TT did flag the excess and prompted me to return the excess contribution before filing date, which I have requested via Fidelity. When creating the 1099-R (for year 2026) to correct for the excess contribution, there is a box (under less common situations) which asks for 'payment date'......do I enter the date in which my brokerage house made the distribution to me of the contribution + earnings, or do I just leave this blank? Thank-you.

After completing my tax return, I was not allowed to efile. My tax returns include a Schedule C. Message said it was because my total income was more than -$25,000 after an allowed carry over loss amount was entered. How do I bypass this issue?
