The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud. Make sure you take into account the information below.
You can find your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:
Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2024 Form 1040
Requesting a transcript of your 2024 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript
Please click on this TurboTax article for more information.
Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.
Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).
Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.
Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2024 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter 0 for one of you).
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

mesquitebean - Thank you for taking time to reply. To clarify, I was able to simply edit all the 2024 values except for one number - Total Itemized Deductions in the Two-Year Comparison sheet. I overrode this value with the correct number. Oddly, I was able to simply edit the same number in the Carryover Worksheet - that one didn't require an override. We used Std Deduction in 2024 and will use again in 2025, so hopefully this value won't prevent e-filing??

If the IRS shows that your return is still being processed, it means they have not yet issued your refund. You do not have to start looking in your bank account for a refund yet. Wait until the IRS says they have approved of your refund and issued it. They will give you a date.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:
https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund
How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

It occurred to me that the student worksheet is not an official form that gets sent to the IRS. With that in mind, I entered the room and board under one of the two questions that did show up, which were referenced earlier in this thread. I was only trying to get the software to acknowledge that all of my 529 withdrawals have gone to allowed expenses. If you’re eligible for either of the education credits, I don’t think this method would work because it would falsely impact the education credit columns shown on the worksheet. When I finalized my tax return and saved a PDF of the entire file, I added a note to the student worksheet identifying that the entry was actually for room and board. I’ll never have to refer to that note unless I happen to get audited, and since it is a TurboTax worksheet, it is not an official form.

You may need to call customer support and ask for a Georgia specialist.
The term "conformity" in tax law refers to whether or not a state will agree to follow federal tax laws on various subjects. A conforming state follows federal law on taxable income -- things like the new deduction for senior citizens, deductions for tips and overtime, and so on.
For example, New Jersey does not allow deductions for 401k or IRA contributions, it is a non-conforming state. After entering your tax information at the federal level, adjustments have to be made on the state return to add those contributions back to your taxable income. Suppose Georgia does not agree to make overtime or tips tax free just because the OBBB did at the federal level. Those items have to be added back to your Georgia income even though they are deductible on your federal return.
I can't tell you specifically about the George forms and instructions. You may want to contact Turbotax and ask for a Georgia specialist. If Georgia is currently debating whether or not to change their tax laws to conform, you might want to wait to file until closer to the deadline.

When I try to take the Child and Other Dependent Tax Credit TurboTax Desktop tells me I am not entitled to the credit. I have taken this credit for years and not had a problem. I reviewed a lot of other users posts with the same issue and have not found a solution. My daughter is a disabled 35 year old who lives with me all year. She has only SSI income and I pay more than half her support. I have already tried removing her as a dependent. Saving the form and then re-entering her information. When I enter the dependent details in My Personal Info it tells me that I qualify for a credit. But when I go to the Deductions and Credits and try to update the credit it pops up with a message that "It turns out you don't qualify for these credits". I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works. Is this a BUG in the TurboTax Deluxe desktop version? Thanks, Alan

If you have received an acceptance email I would suspect the email may have been phishing or a scam.
Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.
The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.
Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
Why do some refunds take longer than others?
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

If you are getting Reject code R0148 from the State of New York, this is the reason and how to fix it:
You have a missing primary or spouse signature checkbox on the New York E-file Declaration statement.
Revisit the File tab,
click on Revisit to file,
click Continue until you reach the "Declaration to E-file Your State" screen.
Be sure you check the Taxpayer box (and Spouse box if applicable),
the re-file your return.
If you keep getting this reject, you will need to physically print, sign and mail in your return.
