Where are you looking for it?  It is not part of your Standard Deduction.   It is automatic based on your age. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. The new Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b with any other sch 1-A amounts. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. If you are married you have to file a Joint return.
For Online version You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/accessing/help/how-do-i-preview-my-turbotax-online-return-before-filing/00/26160 What do you have on 1040 or 1040SR line 13b? See the 1040 …. ,

Thank you for the information.  I had already entered all of the information for my son except for the SC W-2, including the MD state return, so not sure if this is why I am seeing the issue I am about to ask about.     I went back and edited the return to say he worked in another state, and purchased that state.  I entered the W-2 information and then proceeded to complete the SC state return.  After I finished and performed the check, I had the following error: Schedule NR: Line 2b taxable to South Carolina should be entered since there is a taxable interest income amount in column A.  If none of the taxable interest income in column A is taxable to South Carolina, enter a zero in column B.   Am I to enter the state income tax amount from the SC W-2 (box 17) here?

Where is the updater preference you are referring to? I use the online version.  I cannot find an updater preference, and the depreciation section is still not updated. TurboTax also states:  In TurboTax Online, automatic updates happen behind the scenes, and you don't manually set an updater preference like in desktop software. To check for updates or version: 1. Open TurboTax Online and sign in. 2. Your software is always the latest version because TurboTax Online updates automatically. 3. If you suspect you need an update, simply refresh your browser or clear the cache. Unlike TurboTax Desktop, there's no separate update process online. Your program is always current as soon as you log in.

I'm experiencing the same issue (January HSA interview answer doesn't match the form 8889 answer).  I've implemented the suggested work-around (directly changing the form 8889 answer to suit).    I spent 2 hours and 20 minutes on the phone with Intuit, describing/troubleshooting...basically I had to teach the support person how TurboTax should work.  Very frustrating.   I hope Intuit resolves this promptly, as I'm sure it's providing inaccurate return information for several people.  There are other good options out there for filing a tax return.  Perhaps I will look elsewhere next year.

@DawnC @AmyC are you referring to 4562 for Schedule E that's the subject of many threads on the community ... someone from your team said it's still being reviewed due to updates from IRS on 2/11 and maybe Monday but this topic continues to not have a firm date.  I have the latest build from 2/12 there are no other updates available and the depreciation section still says "by February, but likely sooner"

Is unfair to penalize the customer for selecting 5 days earlier in error. It's like 'that's what you get for not paying more to do it w/an 'expert'. So frustrated that there are no options to change that to get the refund advance after being accepted, and right after I gave my review, that TurboTax and CreditKarma were the dream team for me. It's not even an amendment, but a change in the CreditKarma refund method. Big mistake, HUGE!

If you have money NOT at risk of losing, you can not take a loss on schedule C. If you don't know what it means then probably All your Investment is at Risk (check Box 32a). It means you are using your own money for the business. People usually check the wrong box. If you need to find where to change the At Risk box on Schedule C line 32 here are my old notes. Hopefully they still work or will get you close. Go back to your Self-Employment Income. Click on Edit to review your business entries. Then scroll down to Uncommon Situations, click Edit and check or uncheck the box. If your investment is at risk, don't check the box. You may need to delete Form 6198 if you had the box checked and are now unchecking it. How to delete forms https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/view-delete-forms-turbotax-online/L7SZhwCHv_US_en_US?uid=lgn2u570 You can get back to the question about your business investment being at risk by going to the Schedule C and finding the Final Details > Special Situations section (if using TurboTax Home and Business) or the Uncommon Situations section (if using TurboTax Online). One user said…. Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see the Uncommon Situations section, then click Start or Edit beside Carryovers, limitations, at risk information.

Using Turbotax desktop and Chrome on a Mac, I can't import tax files from Schwab.   One window says "Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to Turbotax", But Turbotax says "The import was unsuccessful. We recommend you check your internet connection ..." Is there a workaround ? Thanks.
No.  Not unless you sold it.  Then you use the new cost per share.  Which is whatever you paid for the original 30 shares  divided by 15.

I have been trying to download Wells Fargo for two days. I've tried Edge and Google Chrome and no imports. I get a message that I can return to Turbo Tax but nothing is there. Or I get the message that says go to your bank to import one or more accounts. Sounds like a repeat of the issues from last year. I agree that this is a Turbo Tax issue. Why are we having the same problem two years in a row? I have the desktop version.

I had a central air unit installed. No panel boards or things like that. I put the QMID code, cost of the unit.  Everything’s good…until line 25. I did not have enabling property, I check no. It still wants me to enter an amount for the cost, because air conditioner is checked as enabled property. If I uncheck that, I get no credit, if I leave it checked, I get an error. My taxes were initially rejected because of this.  also, I had new windows installed. I keep reading that I can use the17 digit PIN instead of a QMID, but how? Where do I type it. Arg. My 90 minute estimated time to do my taxes is up to like 12 hours. lol.
