I received disability payments in 2023 of $7488. that I had to repay in 2024. I have made 3 attempts with Turbo tax to get a resolution but nobody ever gets back with me. I would think I could get a tax credit since I paid taxes on that money but then had to repay it. What do I need to do? Thanks

Follow the instructions below to include a Claim of Right on your 2024 tax return to take a deduction for the income you included in your income in 2023 that was paid back in 2024.
What is a claim of right repayment?
I already filed my 2024 return because I was under the impression that I had to amend my 2023 taxes so I guess you're saying I need to amend my 2024 return?
Yes. Since you paid the money back in 2024, you would take the deduction in 2024. So if you already filed your 2024 return you would need to Amend Your Return
I don't see anything that matches my situation on amending a return.
This is the link that @Vanessa A gave you that applies to your situation.
That still doesn't help me because it says $3000. or less and I repaid $7488.
If you answer No on the page that says less than $3K, the next screen shows Claim of Right repayment over $3K. However, neither of those screens will get you a deduction unless you are itemizing your deductions.
If you don't itemize, you take the standard deduction, your only option is to take the credit. See the instructions for Taking the Credit in TurboTax Desktop if you don't itemize and want the credit. It is a two step process, but can be done easily with the desktop software.
