I filed my taxes, got confirmation, got refund and paid what was owed - why do I keep getting notified from intuit that I need to finish filing by 10/2025?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
This may be happening if you have more than one TurboTax account or if you started with a Full Service tax return and chose to self prepare. You should not have an issue with your filed taxes since you have confirmed that you received your refunds accordingly. Please disregard the e-mails and know that TurboTax is always trying to be sure nothing get missed and that your taxes have been filed.
There are a couple different possibilities I can think of, such as:
Ultimately, if you did receive confirmation that the tax return(s) were accepted, and you paid what was due and/or received your refund, then you can ignore those emails.
One of the most common reasons to receive notifications from TurboTax is multiple accounts. You may have more than one Intuit account, and the reminders are coming from an account where you started but didn’t finish a return. How can I view all my TurboTax accounts?
If you filed using the TurboTax Desktop software, the Online version won’t know you filed. The online system may still show your return as “Started” or “Incomplete,” triggering reminders. Also, some reminders are automated marketing messages, especially around extension deadlines.
Check Your E-file Status: The most important step is to verify that your return was accepted by the IRS. You can do this by using the e-file status lookup tool on the TurboTax website. You can also use the "Where's My Refund?" tool on the IRS website if you received a refund or check your IRS tax account online to see the payment posted. This is your definitive proof.
Disregard the Notifications: If your e-file status and IRS records confirm that your return was accepted, you can safely ignore the messages from Intuit.
