In the deductions part of the Step by Step dialog for Higher Educatio Expenses says it deals with form 1098-E, 1098-T, and scholarships and more. I entered YES amd went to a page asking was I the beneficiary of an ESA or did I eceive a 1098-Q. I answered NO to both questions and the next page asked about expenses for Books, Classroom supplies, and Lab Equipment. When I pushed the CONTINUE button I got a page which included a line for Tuition and Enrollnent Fees but no input box because (according to the help hyperlink) I had already entered that earlier.
BUT I HAD NOT ENTERED THE INFORMATION EARLIER BECAUSE THE STEP BY STEP NEVER ASKED FOR IT.
I think there is a problem with the Step-By-Step dialog that it never asks for the 1098-T information.
I went into Open Forms and manually entered the 1098-T information on the form. It made a large difference in my Federal income tax. (over $1000).
I guess I have 2 questions.
(1) is there a problem in Turbotax Premier which needs to be corrected?
(2) Was entered the Form manually the correct way for me to work around this problem?
I don't want to file until I get definitive answers to these questions.
Thanks for all your help

This is a known bug. They're working on it. But there's a simple workaround:
Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary". Click edit next to the student's name. That should take you to a screen “Here’s your Education Summary”. Click edit next to the section you want to change; tuition, in your case (click edit next to the school name).
