I JUST USED TAXSLAYER AND IT WORKED JUST FINE!! This is a TT issue. Also, What TT wanted that would have cost $130, I was able to file for $38 with Audit protection as well.....Sorry TT, I waited and waited all of us here wait and your issue, YOUR LOSS
You lost out TT...I have always used you but your Glitch and lack of fixing it made me go to TAXSLAYER where I filed for 1/5th the cost of you and NO ISSUES with my 1099-Q.
Yes I did the same and actually got a little more back. It’s absurd.
All I'd like is an acknowledgement from TurboTax that there is indeed an issue with the software. I can wait to file (already paid).
Did you find a solution? Any word from TT when this will be resolved?

@splitfinger09 I believe they were contacted by a member here early in the thread. I've returned to TurboTax after a long hiatus so I'm not quite sure how or who to contact.
Regarding your two-part question:
1. At what rate will the money be taxed? It will be taxed at your ordinary rates and the funds will be subject to penalty.
2. Will you get an email from TurboTax when you are ready to file?
No; please be sure your program is fully updated if you are using CD/Download. If you are using Online, signout completely and clear the cache and cookies. Reopen using Chrome. Here are the steps for that:

@KathrynG3 Can you please explain the discrepancy between this being an IRS issue or a TT issue? It seems like other have had no problems filling elsewhere. Is there any way you an provide an estimated time when this will be fixed? Is TT aware of the issue? Are they working to resolve it? The experience with TT has been awful this year. I am so dissatisfied.
Same problem here. QTP distribution. Not used for education. Owe taxes. Can't e-file. Already paid $40.

Called in, requested refund, and filed with TaxSlayer. Took time to fill everything in again, but I was able to file
I got the same message saying I can’t file yet because of a recent law change by Congress involving QTP. I owe money so I’m hoping this change will reduce what I owe. I need to know when TurboTax will be updated. How will we be notified?
This holdup is totally ridiculous. It's February and I still can't file my taxes. I'm beginning to think this is a Turbotax issue.
