Hello Turbo Comunity! My question relates to the 1098-T. My school choos to only report box 2. I received the Pell Grant and a University grant do I report this in the tuition paid section in addition out of pocket expenses (tuition and books)?
Here's the breakdown:
Box 2: $6,836.00
Box 5: $5,427 (Includes Pell Grant + University Grant)
Pell Grant: $3427.00
Univeristy Grant: $2000.00
Out of Pocket: $1744 (Includes books and resources).

No, you would not report it in the tuition paid section. You would enter the 1098-T as is and if you have additional qualified education expenses then you would enter the additional education expense section.
