Any senior discounts (additional standard deduction or the new enhanced $6K deduction) will be automatically applied based on your birthdate. You will find Schedule 1-A included with your saved or printed tax return. There is no place in TurboTax you need to make additional entries for these deductions.
I received your answer about how Schedule 1-A is automatically filed based on our birthdates, however I want to see the forms before I actually file and am unable to do so before filing and paying for this service. How can I see the completed forms before actually filing..
@perezsandi52 If you are using the TurboTax online editions there is no direct access to any forms or schedules.
If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer, click on Forms.
I can not find the enhaced deduction for seniors or Schedule 1 A in the 2025 version of Tubo Tax online
IRS Schedule 1-A is generated when the taxpayer reports:
In TurboTax Online, view the entry by:
Note the entry Additional Deductions (Schedule 1-A).
In TurboTax Desktop, select FORMS in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
It is automatic based on your age. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. The new Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b with any other sch 1-A amounts. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. If you are married you have to file a Joint return.
For Online version you can preview the 1040
