Along with many others I am very disappointed with TT at this point. It appears that TT statements on this are just a method of delay since other companies have the form completed.
Will look at other software for next year and maybe purchase from another company to get the filing done.
This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! I've used TT for years. I've had my taxes done and ready to file for over a MONTH now waiting on this stupid form!! And now I have to wait another MONTH?? Think I'll spend my money with H&R block this year and from now on unless someone gives me a **bleep** good answer or a reason I should stay.
What is the hold up on this Turbo Tax Form 8853 p2? Per the other posts, other companies have had this for for weeks. If I can't get a good answer this might be the last time I use TT.
You and me both!! I have a refund waiting for me and can’t do anything without this form
@TiffanyL , please do better than this...or please talk to your manager to give us a straight answer.
Any update on the form being approved or do we need to wait until March 31?

I'm having the same problem with not being able to submit my taxes because of the lagging 8853 form. I've used TT for many years and never had a problem like this but with sure make me think twice next year. A form that the IRS had approved for a couple months but not approved or available in TT is unacceptable and not a good business model if you want to retain customers. Mid February now the end of March? What if it's not ready by the end of March? Will the IRS forgive my late return (I do owe money) because TT has not made this a higher priority? I think not.
HelenC12, you did not answer the question of "Where is the form?" You simply copy and pasted the section of the 8853 instructions of who needed to submit the form. I already know I need to submit the form since TT will not let me issue my return until the form is ready.
Is anything being done by TT to pull the 8853 ready date to the left? The end of March is not leaving your customers much breathing room if the is another problem with their returns or if TT again pushes the 8853 completion date further to the right.
Is there an update to the availability of IRS Form 8853?
was told it would be updated 2/18, of what year ? It is 3/4 and still no page 2

Unacceptable to be so late with form 8853. TT put some effort into finishing this product and STOP with the lame cookie cutter excuses!!!!
Ridiculous wait when other tax preparers already have firm 8853. Not at all acceptable and after using Turbo Tax for years and years I guess it’s time to change. Difficult to speak with anyone, disappointing and no good reason
Available in February? How not true. It is now March 12 and still not available to Turbo Tax when other preparers have it. Inexcusable
