I need help completing this entry IT-360.1

I keep getting error IT-360 for Line 1b. I am not sure why. I have tried updating it multiple times and still comes up as an issue.

Hi, I've recently run into an issue with this form as well. Several boxes are not, or incorrectly filled in for this form. I've tried amending my tax return over the phone/online with 2 different experts and these forms are still filed incorrectly.

@paola88 or @stephanrb3 Were you ever able to figure this out? I'm having the same issue.

I'm having the same issue as @paola88 paola88.  When you try to update line 1b to match the amount listed in the part year resident other allocations (under New York Income allocation), it temporarily corrects the issue.  But then it reruns the check and updates line 1b again.  Near as I can figure out, when you use the allocate by percentage (ABP) method for New York Wage allocations (under New York Income allocation).  The total of the w2 does not actually reduce (which it should if it's taking a percentage of the total income reported)  For example, if my w2 wages showed 100,000 and I use the abp of 30.00%, it should reduce my wages to 30,000 and then fill that number in to line 1b on the IT360.1 form, but it's not adjusting it and so it doesn't match the 201 form which appears to get the amount from section Part-Year resident other allocations(under New York Income allocation), which I can enter the 30, 000.  When those numbers match, the return is accepted.  So it appears to be a bug in correctly reporting New York Wage allocations.

I was able to resolve my issue. I entered the same value I had in column A/B for Column C. I also spoke with TurboTax tax experts and they investigated and couldn’t figure out the issue and this was their suggestion as well. I was able to file and NY State didn’t flag my tax return and I received my refund.

thanks for responding @DianeW777

This is the message I get:

IT-360.1 TP -- Change of City Resident Status Stmt - TP: Other Adj, Federal Amt -- The amounts entered in Column A of the Line 17 - Federal Adjustments to Income Worksheet do not agree with the total transferred from the Income Allocation Worksheet to Line 17 Column A. This line and below should total $5113.

What items am I supposed to add to reach this total?

Line 17 is for the Adjustments to Federal income.  To correct, you will follow these steps in TurboTax Online:

  1. Click Edit next to New York
  2. Click Adjustments to Income
  3. On the Allocate Federal Adjustments to Income the first column is the total federal Adjustments.  The full amount of $5,113 should go in Column A.  However, if any amount is for New York City you would allocate that portion to Column B, and Column C would be for Yonkers.  The total of all 3 columns should equal the $5,113.

Having the exact same problem this year! Going in circles. Did you end up completing the form manually?

I went back to the relevant steps and did some simple math. I realized that I had forgotten one deduction (that I had mentioned in the federal tax return but not in the New York tax return). Once I added this line in the New York form, turbo tax confirmed that there was nothing else to review. Good luck!
