@tiechej , you apply for EIN using form SS-4 at the IRS -- see details here -->
Is there more one of us can do for you ?
You can get an EIN online here,
https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/employer-id-numbers
if it is a grantor trust, you may not want an EIN. For example, if it's a grantor trust and has an investment account using the EIN, you'll have to file an annual grantor trust tax return which requires Turbotax Business. in addition, you'll need a separate app to file the individual's return. if the same account used the taxpayers SSN no return would be required. at such time as the grantor trust terminated and filing a 1041 was required th SS_4 application could be submitted at that time
