My e-file at 10PM EST could not be uploaded when I hit the final send button, and I'm waiting for a callback for three hours. So much for 24/7 support... I'll try again in the morning, since the TT phone support lines are down for the night. I'm singing the Procrastinator Blues...

My payment to the IRS has not been deducted from my bank account.  Is there a way I can obtain a copy of the authorization completed at the end of my filing with TURBO TAX.  IRS received the return on 2-15-2019.  I authorized payment from my bank to be on 4-15-2019.  Please help.

We are still getting a message that our tax information that we filed yesterday is "pending". Is this because of the barrage of last minute filers like me?

If I put 04/16/2019 for the Direct Debit Date, wouldn't I be liable for penalties or interest?

@dangelo2
After efling, a return can be in "pending" status normally 24-48 hours, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer.  See this FAQ:
<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2562178-what-does-pending-mean">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/...>

You can follow your efile status by logging back into your online account, or by using this tool to check the status:

Your situation is different from most people who are viewing this thread.  This thread was likely started because of a known problem yesterday with those who efiled yesterday and could only select April 16 for their debit date.   You filed back in February and chose April 15 for the debit date, your situation is not the same..

Even though you selected April 15, the IRS doesn't always make the debit exactly on April 15.   Possibly because of sheer volume, or possibly because of the time required for the actual ACH request to arrive/process at your bank.  But if April 15 is the date you selected back in February, then the IRS should still give you credit for it as being paid on time--as long as you are SURE they received your return and that the info was provided with correct account and routing numbers.

You can review your choices by viewing your PDF and looking at the page Electronic Filing Instructions, and also the page "2018 Federal Tax Return Summary."   Those pages should mention what you chose as payment for your taxes due.   There's actually a third worksheet that will show the bank information called "Federal Information Worksheet" and also shows if direct debit was selected.   The info is in Part V of that worksheet.

If those pages are not in the PDF you view/download from the Tax Home, we can tell you how to download a larger PDF with all the worksheets.   If you need help with that, then please start a new thread with your topic where you can be questioned and assisted.  Title it something like "Need help getting full return PDF with all the worksheets."

You can use the link below so your question will show up to the whole forum as needing help.

<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new</a>

When you go to the form at the link, the first box is for a summary of your question, like a title, and is limited to 170 characters..  If you need more room, lower on the form you will come to another box with plenty of room to enter details.  This is a public Internet forum, so don't post any personal info.

@jkrybiski
Also, even if the IRS did initiate your direct debit yesterday as you instructed in February, it can take a couple of days for their actual debit request to show up at your bank.  So it could be "in the works" and not yet visible by your bank.

If it doesn't show up soon, and you continue to have any question about your bank debit,  the IRS website says you can "phone the IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire or cancel but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling. "   Since you filed in February, that waiting period won't apply to you.

The debit withdrawal date will be 4/16 because banks have a cutoff time at 3pm, but the tax return will still be filed on time if filed by 11:59pm on 4/15/19.

One of the other TT personnel this:
"This is a known issue they are looking into currently.
You can go to the IRS website and make a payment there. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://directpay.irs.gov/directpay/payment?execution=e1s1"">https://directpay.irs.gov/directpay/pay...>
