Itemized on Sch A does not agree to p , line #8. Itemized on Sch A $24,513 but p 1 is $26,600. Itemized are taxes $10k, mrtg int of $11,409 and charities of $3,104.

I can not tie out the Schedule A detail of itemized per Schedule A to what is carried into page one.   What could account for this difference? - the difference was the additional $1,300 of std deduction as this joint return had two taxpayers who were both over age 65 - it would be helpful if this was documented in the trail of itemized per Sch A into page one of the return.   This is no longer an outstanding question.

Check...thus you only used the 24,000 MFJ Std Deduction...plus 2x1300 for  over 65.  and the Itemized deductions were not used at all.  There are two software summary pages in a row that show it as a "Standard Deduction" = 26,600...but no place on the actual tax forms for that clarification.
