I am at the final step to file but I have to check an entry for Box 16 state wages cannot be less than state withholding. The 1st line in box 16 include wages

Go back and review your W-2 entries for boxes 16 & 17 for accuracy ... the program is saying the amount in box 17 cannot be more than box 16 which makes sense since you cannot have more in state withholding than you have in state wages ...

The state wages can only be higher than the taxes withheld for that particular state if you work in multiple states
