This experience can occur if Form 1099-MISC is entered under the income topic rather than under the Rental/Royalties section.
To review your royalty entry, follow these steps:
When you finish, run Review again to confirm the SmartCheck message has resolved.
I am having the same problem as described, but it is from a royalty entry on a K-1 for an oil/gas property (LLC). It says double click to reestablish the link. Nothing happens. Can't for the life of me figure out what/where entry is missing.
I've done this and this still doesn't work.
Your best option is to delete Form 1099-MISC from the page where you entered it and instead report this income under the Rental/Royalty property that received the income.
Also, create a new question if a thread is over a year old. This will encourage a prompt response in Community.
Make sure to leave the royalty box under your schedule K-1 blank. Don’t put a zero or else the software thinks that you have royalty income
