Help with form 540x part II line 1?

amending my tax return and cannot understand form 540X part II line 1

Part II Line 1 of 540X is simply to confirm your address. If you have the same address as previously stated in the 540X you will just enter the word Same.

If you address has changed you will enter your new address in this section.

that line doesn't address my address its asking about names and addresses. do I only put my name or add both my spouse & my name together?

also my spouse is active duty from Tennessee so why do I have to file a Tennessee return if I have never lived there we both reside & stationed here in California. I am a California resident. my spouse is a Tennessee resident stationed here in California.

It addresses the names &  address you used on the original CA return ... it is either the same or different.
Are you changing from a separate to a joint return ?   You cannot switch from a joint to a separate return after the filing deadline.

If you are new to filing military returns you may want to get some professional help for the first tax year.

And TN doesn't have a state income tax so you will not file that one.  And CA can be tricky to file a separate return due to the community property rules.
