Help- Received a 1099k from Venmo for my personal social # for 9k. Theis 9k was for my small business-file taxes for sm biz & get k1 form. What do I do with the 1099?

I have a business profile attached to personal Venmo account for my small Soccer Camp business. I received 9k in venmo funds for the camp but the 1099k was attached to my personal social # and not the EIN of my business. I file taxes for the business and get a K1, which includes this 9k of income from Venmo. How do I fix this? This 9k was not personal income- it was business income which I then get a share of (the business is split 4 ways, 25% ownership. ) Any help is appreciated. Spoke with an Accountant who said that I should be asked by TurboTax if I got a 1099 from my small business and then can list this 9k as expenses so it cancels out but I did not see this question. I was hoping to be able to fix this with TurboTax and file online and not have to go through an accountant but not sure if that will be possible. Any help is appreciated.

You can enter it and then remove it.

  1. Click federal wages and income
  2. Show more next to Other Common Income
  3. Start next to 1099-K
  4. Select Other for what type of income
  5. Enter the info from your 1099-K
  6. Select "This amount in box 1a is too high or includes some personal transactions"
  7. Enter the amount that should not be included which would be the entire amount
  8. Hit continue

This will allow you to enter it and show the IRS it wasn't forgotten, but then also remove it.  Keep it with your records with a statement as you just made explaining how/why, in case of a question ever.
