What do i put for associated state when entering a w-2?

Do i enter the state Im in or the state the w-2 is from when entering the associated state portion of the w-2 section

Enter your Form W-2 exactly the same way how the information is reported.  If it is blank in the state section, leave them blank. Do not change any information on the form.

IRS receives a copy of your W-2, you want the reported information be consistent with IRS records.
