Hi, I'm a little confused on what to do here.
It says that if I make under $600.00 I don't have to file taxes to the IRS.
I made $50.00 in 2022 from my free lance / self employment work and was wondering do I need to still file my taxes for 2022 or not. I have a 1099 MISC tax Return on my PDF file I just don't know what to do, as to file it because I'm below the $600 threshold for the IRS.
I still think I have to file my 1099 MISC, I'm just confused on the wording and I'm not trying to get a fine for next year or a court appearance. Any help / assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct that you are not required to file a tax return if your income is below $600 for the year. However, the IRS believes that all self-employed individuals should report their income. We recommend that you prepare a return in TurboTax Online (it's free until you actually file). Complete the necessary information, then let TurboTax help you determine if you really do need to file.
Remember that you can claim expenses that relate to your income, which might result in zero taxable income from the 1099-MISC.
okay, thank you for the reply.
just wanted to make sure I still had to file it.
cooL !
