You can amend your return if you forgot to enter info or need to add any additional info to your return. Please use the steps below to amend your return and enter your 1098-T.
To File an Amended Return:
1. Wait for your return to be accepted or rejected by the IRS
2. Log into your account, and at your tax timeline select your "2016 Tax Year"
3. Select to "Amend (Change) 2016 return" and follow the directions

To Enter your Education Expenses for form 1098-T:
1. Select "Federal Taxes" at the top of the page
2. Select the "Deductions & Credits" sub-tab
3. Scroll down to "Education Expenses" and select "Show More"
4. Select "Start" next to "Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T)"
If you are accepted, you will need to amend your tax return. Amending your return means filing a new form, 1040-X. This is only required in certain situations.
In other situations, you can change your original return, and you should not file a new form.
