It is showing you are in the Online version, there is no charge to e-file , the charge is the same whether you e-file or mail in your return.
It you purchased the download software (CD/Download), which sounds like what you have, it offers a Free State program (Deluxe & above), there is a charge to e-file a State return in the CD/Download software. Mailing a State return saves the cost of e-file.

I logged into my account. I can't see my state or federal return. I did buy the cd and used the license to install the program. Some newer laptops don't have the built in cd drive. I had an old laptop that quit working prior to the cd arriving. I want to be able to see my return. That's why I bought TurboTax. I want to see my returns in case I would have to amend them for some reason. I also wanted to see my state. I paid almost 60 dollars to do my taxes. You'd think you'd be able to simply log in and see your filed taxes. Luckily I printed them.
@cathe813 Your post is confusing, you said you purchased the desktop software but then say you logged into your account. Your returns created with the CD/Download software are not on TurboTax servers.
If you used the CD/Download software then your returns are on your computer you used to file your returns.
If you did also use the Online version, you would have to sign in with the exact UserID and password you used to create the account.
Online Account Recovery:
All the tax files under one tax payer should be on one account. I found all I needed to know. So the point is, basically, why have our taxes in different places?
The Desktop CD/Download program and the Online web browser version are completely separate. If you installed the Desktop program your returns are only saved on your computer and any backups you make. So be sure to save and backup the .tax2022 and pdf files often.
