Why is my federal return still in PENDING status? I called yesterday and spoke to a turbo tax "expert", supposedly hadn't been transmitted yet. What is the hold up.

I have the same problem and I had the bad experience of chatting with Kenya A.a totally arrogant and racist black lady.

Dont be arrogant AH, there is many people that is this happening to them. If you dont know there i people here like me that had been filling with turbotax for the last 10 years, and so far the amount of people that submit is the same, and never had this issue. Control your arrogance pendejo.

Thats not the problem with everybody here! It is that turbotax says is been submitted to the IRS, and is showing pending in turbotax, when you call IRS they dont even show on their system that a tax return had been submitted yet. Turbotax is hiding something or lying.

Turbotax and you guys been made to lie to us, yall know it. What the heck is really happening? Dont come up with the same similar answer because turbotax know is not true. People had been resubmitting through other platforms and boom, were accepted by IRS. The problem is turbotax. Go ahead and resolve the issue and tell us the true. At least I paid $228 always for mine here.

I had spoke 3 times with TT, all provide different information, not clear nser. They blame IRS. BS and lies from TT. Plus their people are very arrogants.

Just filed with cashapp and it was accepted by the IRS within SECONDS. Get wrecked TT.

Wish there was a way for them to understand that their software is the issue!! I don’t have another 218 dollars to spend on submitting taxes.

The TurboTax app said it's still pending I just called and they said the IRS received my taxes. Not understanding why the TurboTax app still says pending.

TT keeps telling me the same thing but IRS said they haven’t. That is the problem

There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay:

1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return.  This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.

2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, Investment Credit, Energy Credits, or Business Credits. You may need to wait a few more days and check your filing status again. Please see this FAQ for additional information.

Note: Both instances may be applicable.  That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.

Any generic response is insulting. I’ve been doing taxes for the last twenty years, the last ten specifically with turbo tax. The multitude of people having this issue of endless pending with turbo tax ONLY. A good deal of them are talking about a class action suit and quite frankly if TT wants to keep up the charade and pointing fingers elsewhere than actually fixing the glitch and owning up to the problem, then they need to expect what is coming from all the rightfully angry customers.
