A refund may be smaller than expected for one of two reasons:
My return was almost $1500 short of what i was suppose to get? Can you tell me why?
@Pconradsen Please visit the Help Article below for possible reasons why your refund is lower than expected. If your refund was deposited by Santa Barbara Tax Group, please reach out to SBTG Customer Care for more information, as we don't have access to your records in this public forum.
Why is my direct-deposited refund or check lower than the ...
My refund was supposed to be 2257$. Then irs changed it to 857$. 205$ turbo tax fees why I only have 167$ deposited in my account?
My refund was done the same way. Im missing almost $700 dollars of it and also got charged processing fees twice
Hi, I suppose to had received $6674 but only $3757. What is going on. That's a huge chunk of money not accounted for. And why wasn't it deposited via IRS instead this TPG Products company? Who can I speak with you give me clarification on the matter?

Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
Same, just saw the direct deposit, over 2k short.
Hey, I have the same issue, missing about 1300.00.
Here is a link for the TPG Calculator to see how it was calculated: https://taxpayer.sbtpg.com/login
At the bottom of your email from TurboTax, they show contact information for TPG.
Their number is: [phone number removed]
Their service department email address is:
I just went to irs.gov and says they adjusted the return but doesn’t match what the deposit was anyway and still $2800 short. When I go to turbo tax shows both amounts from state, which I received, and the federal number. This doesn’t seem right at all. I’m calling IRS when they open with screen shots and reference numbers.
You can contact the IRS at their tax refund line at [phone number removed].
It'll bring you to some automated response.
They'll ask you for information, and once you type it in, they'll say it was lowered and give you a list of reasons why it was lowered.
Have your:
1) SSN
2) Filing status (single, married, etc...)
3) Fed tax amount (the amount shown on your turbo tax, not the amount you received)
1,400 or 2,800 (or multiples) is the 3rd Stimulus payment. Did you already get the Stimulus payment they sent out last year starting March 2021? The IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400/2,800 Recovery Rebate Credit.
Do you have an amount on 1040 line 30? You might have tried to claim it again. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.
Double check your bank statements and check your IRS account to see what they sent you. Check both IRS accounts if married.
