Where is the rest of my money?

I'm also having the same problem as everyone else. They shorted me 837.00. I paid the 118 in fees before I got my taxes. I don't owe anything to anybody. Where is my money and who is TPG!

You did not pay your fees when you filed if you chose refund processing.  You agreed to have your fees deducted from your federal refund by the third party bank when the IRS issued your refund.   Remember that federal and state refunds do not arrive at the same time.  They are issued separately by completely separate taxing authorities.   It is possible that the IRS reduced your federal refund if you owed child support, back taxes, or if the IRS caught and corrected a mistake made on your return.  If that happened, the IRS will be sending you a letter in a few weeks.   Check the IRS refund site to see what it says about the amount of the refund that was issued to you.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

When you choose "refund processing"   TurboTax gets its fees when the IRS releases your federal refund.  Your refund goes to the third party bank.  The bank takes out your fees and then that bank sends the rest of the federal refund to you.

What is Refund Processing Service?

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.

STATE RETURN

Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Where is the rest of my money?

I paid my turbo tax fees  of 118 without my tax refund. This third party shouldn't take 837 out of 1500. That's insane. I checked the irs website I knew how much I was getting.

Where is the rest of my money?

@ChanelB If you paid your fees upfront BEFORE you e-filed by using your own debit or credit card, then there would be no involvement whatsoever with the third party bank.  The third party bank is not involved at all unless you choose refund processing.  And you say you had a payment from that bank.

Contact the third party bank using the information already provided.
