Where is my money?

Refunds take about 21 days after the IRS has accepted your E-filed tax return. Please see below for more information.

Once your tax return has been submitted, the most up to date information will come from the IRS.

It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to update. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund?  tool for updates.

Please see below for more information on what accepted means:

Please see the information below on dates and more information about refunds. Returns filed with the CTC tax credit may take a little longer to process:

Where is my money?

its been months I received my federal but not state. And I owe Alabama so was waiting on my Ms so I could pay Alabama. I have also never received my stimulus check and i know everyone else has. Please let me know whats going on. I need this money to help our family with bills.

Where is my money?

@hancock r691 Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.

STATE RETURN

Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

The IRS can look at your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If they do not have a 2018 return then you may be waiting for them to finish processing 2019 before they will be able to use it to issue your stimulus check.

If you used the non-filer site, you will not be able to e-file a 2019 return after using the non-filer site.

TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it. Refer to the sites linked below:

You can call the IRS hotline at 1-800-919-9835 to get updates on your stimulus payment.

If you have not used the Pay With My Refund feature, it's possible that your refund was offset. Please visit the TurboTax Help article below for information concerning a refund offset.
