What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

I filed on 2/7/2020 and my wmr says still being processed a refund date will be available soon but it been 6 weeks and I filed the CTC but does it really take over 30days to get a DDD

The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. If it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted, you can call the IRS directly to check on your refund status.

We received a letter from IRS on March 9th stating its taking up to 60 days from the date of the letter for them to process our federal( we got our state refund mid February) and we cannot contact them before 60 days is over, in the mean time we should check our status on IRS2GO, and if there in no update after 60 days we could contact them!!!!                           

FYI we have been filing the same tax status for 10 years with turbo tax except this year we didn't claim our adult children(they moved on their own). Will update if there is any changes

We filed on february 3, 2020 and it is still in processing being reviewed. The app irs.gov will just provide the ststus of processing. It is really aggras vating because of the run around. The tax return was completed before the coronavirus breakout was even a thought. I had emailed the President about the processing of the tax refunds and thst we would have to wait before or until May 15, 2020. I am really disappointed with the IRS, especially since we decided to file early, and for not being straight up as a business and telling us what is going on with us not receiving our tax refunds. Turbo tax is requesting that I pay them out of pocket since they were supposed to be receiving their compensation from the tax return that was supposed to be given to us a month or two ago.

If you have been getting emailed bills because your Federal refund has been delayed by the IRS, phone TurboTax Support ASAP.  If you have a hardship, ask them for a deferment.   

If you don't either pay or ask for a deferment, they will ultimately debit your bank account.   You need to contact them right away.  Once they start the debit process they cannot stop it, and they start it a few days prior to the bank debit.

If the email has a phone number to reach Support, try that first.  If it didn't tell you how to reach Support, here's another way to get a phone number:

Me. Too and I filed February 3, 2020 for the 2019 tax return and we have filed the EIC credit before and the low income credit as well.

It means the IRS is still working on or reviewing your return, and that when they are finished, and the refund ready to be sent, they'll post a refund date.

Update on my situation. 

My return was accepted February 12th.

Yesterday I received a letter from the IRS stating I needed to send in more documents for them to process my return properly.

If you had a tax credit expect a long wait and letter if you have not filed with the necessary documents. Same thing happened last year.

For me it's been almost a month and half..and still have the same processing note for my federal tax return.

Perhaps this will bring hope to some people:

I mailed back my form 8962 and copy of form 1095-A on March 03. Today I check "where is my refund" IRS web page and I see progress status bars again. I t seem that I shall be getting my payment on 04/01/20. The message "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." has finally gone away.

Has anyone received a DDD after faxing there 1095 a and 8962 to the irs?....I faxed mine on March 3 ....still being processed....it’s almost impossible to reach them right now ....hopefully they received it...I know it went through...smh

@Kcole30 The IRS says to allow 4-8 weeks to process a return after receiving the 1095-A and Form 8962, although I have seen them processed quicker than that.
