Yup correct! Except I filed in February and didn't receive any letters.

Once your return has been accepted by the IRS, the refund process is completely under the control of the IRS. The IRS says that most refunds would be issued within 21 days. But some returns need more processing and refunds will take longer, especially during these Covid-19 times when some IRS agents still work remotely.

I'm waiting still for my 2019 taxes and 2020 taxes been down to the irs building they been giving me the run around since last year and aint got nothing yet its terrible I have a ip pin and still had to send my taxes in I work a real job and my kids live with me but they dont wanna pay me my money they owe me but if I owed them they would wanna take your check or add extra on this stuff is crazy

I filed May 3rd 3020. Turbo tax and irs.gov say still processing , but is accepted.

I’m in this same exact situation. Taxes accepted 1/29- got a letter about needing insurance info so I sent that in 3/13.

You must follow these steps exactly as written to reach a live agent. Good luck and hope this helps.
Here are the steps once you call

1. Select language
2. Option 2
3. Opti0on 1
4. Option 3
5. Option 2
6. It will ask for social security number. Do not enter it. It will ask a second time. Do not enter it.
7. Option 2
8. Option 4
You will then be connected to an agent
If it has to do with your 1040a and your 8962, you have to fax it in to 8 five five 8 nine two 7 five 8 eight. Include a cover letter with name address social security number phone number and a brief explanation. Hope this helps someone.

We filed ours January 27,2020 and still says it is being processed! I called last week and the lady told me that IRS had been shut down due to Covid 19 and they was just now getting started back up! She said that they started to review my taxes but didn’t get to finish it! She also told me that she was sending it over to referral and that it still may take 6-8 weeks! This is totally rediculous! We are about fed up with this ordeal! 😡😡
