What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

I called the stimulus impact number,  [phone number removed]  on 5/22.  Not sure what option it was, but selected "all other...".  Surprisingly,  a person answered.   So I  asked if the reason I haven't received my  stimulus  was because of the letter , (#4464), I got  from the  IRS on 2/19/20, which stated that they received my taxes and it is being reviewed. His answer was, "...it's a probability..."  and  then he said he'll transfer my call to IRS .  When he transferred my call,  I got a recording that said my hold time was 30 minutes to 1 hour.  They finally came on the line at exactly 1 hour.  I tried to  call  the 829-1040 number numerous times and was just getting the "please select from following options  and  couldn't get a "speak to a representative  option.  Anyway,  I'm glad I stayed on the line (1 hour), cause I  didn't  realize I had an error on my taxes.  I file with turbo tax every year and haven't had any problems till this year.

Thank you for your time this was good information. I had the same problem with identity. I verified March 13th. He told me to expect a refund around May 28. Well I called a week ago and they told me 60 days, called again today, she said it has been processed they are just reviewing EOC and that I may receive it before the 60 days! I’m just out here trusting God! Thank you for the info.

I have an update.  I called and talked to the IRS today.  There is no one to process the refunds because they have been closed since the Pandemic and they are not back yet!  She didn't give me any date or anything!  So I guess that makes them pretty useless.  That's why none of our tax returns have been released.  Mine always says processed on their website too...  that's because they don't work with Turbo Tax so that system absolutely does no good either.  My daughter waited until she had her refund in her checking account then checked where's my refund again and it still said processing and she had it!  That's because she filed Turbo Tax.

Got a hold of irs today... I could hardly hear them, then the transferred my call to a number that automatically hung up on me. Tried to call tax advocate, still can't get ahold of anyone there.

Wow I have filed back in January got a letter February 19th over nighted the market place tax form they needed and still pending instead of this stimulus send me my six grand then I would have no worries so sick of waiting and still can't call anyone bc they're closed this is such BS I've always used turbo tax and never ever had an issue until I got insurance through the government which they can and look up themselves but choose to do a review WTH beyond pissed here.

Omg kinda same boat irs owes me over 4 grand rn and childsupport from my daughters dad is up to 900.. Hes a tattoo artists. He gets a 1099.. But doesnt file taxes so guess who didnt get a stimulus him.. Therefore they couldnt get the childsupport he owes.. Im so aggrivated i could use that monet right now we have a famil of 6

If anyone is still waiting on there tax refund, it is possible that there is an error   on your return, filed February 2nd and we finally got to talk to the IRS review team To find that one number on wages was incorrect. now processing starts all over again. Hope this was a help

I Finally spoke with a live agent at IRS yesterday and good thing because My taxes had a typo error that the man said they the IRS would fix on their end to get my taxes and stimulus check finally processed through! If they couldn't fix they'd send me a letter on how and what 2 do! I efiled my taxes April 12th 2020.. If U call IRS just stay on the line and they'll route you to a live agent! Took me 2hrs 22minutes and 6seconds in total to get an answer as 2 why I haven't received my taxes or stimulus$$?! Good Luck Everyone🙏🙏

I also called irs and good thing bcuz I filed with turbotax as well and my taxes were held up by a typo That I knew nothing of?? They said it's a small error and most likely the IRS could fix on their end and finish processing my taxes or if they couldn't they'd send me a letter on how and what 2 do?? Hopefully that works and they send me my $$!!
