Hi, I purchased Home & Business + State 2018 Download. I have to file in two states and it would not allow me to download one of the states for free so I had to purchase two state downloads. How can I get a refund for one of the state purchases. My orders are as follows: Home & Business + State 2018 Download- Amazon Download, Order D01-9034506-9337838 Two State Download (CA and AZ) - Order number TTDCDL107944583

Exactly what were you charged for? There is a fee to efile the first free state return. You only get one state program download for free. But each state return is 24.99 to efile, including the first one. Or you can print and mail the state for free.
Hi, I was charged for AZ and also paid extra $44.99 for filing protection if there was a problem with IRS after I filed. I am not using Turbo tax to file my taxes this year so have no need for the AZ state tax, or the protection. I have filed using Tt for many years and will be back next year. But this year, because I sold 2 properties in AZ it got too complicated so I hired a local CPA to do my taxes. I am not asking for a refund of the orig. TT as I purchased that at Sam's club.
As I said, I am not filing using TT this year do to exceptional complications of my return so am asking for a refund for the extra 2 items I purchased.
I'm aware that orig. TT purchased only includes one state. That's why I had to purchase additional state, plus I also purchased the insurance support. Those extra charges were $44.99 and $47.28
Jim, when you said "As I said, I am not filing using TT this year do to exceptional complications.....yada yada", 1. WHY would you purchase something that you intended not to use?? OR, 2. you actually start using TT and THEN found out that it was too much to try and figure out what turbo tax was asking you to input??, OR, 3. did TT not have the correct questions and answers built into the program to use??
IF your situation is #3, then you "might have a very SLIM CHANCE" for a refund, but in the case of #1, if your container that TT came in is un-broken, you might have a right to take it back to SAM's CLUB for a refund, but in the case of ALL SOFTWARE, all most all come with the caveat that the product is NOT returnable if OPENED. Hope this helps you to understand why you might NOT get a refund.
