Question is how to adjust a present Desktop 2022 return to the proper prior year data?
Background: For 2021, we had to run scenarios of Married Filing Jointly vs. Filing Separately. We ended up filing separately. For 2022, I started with the Joint file of 2021 - run the analysis, then used that file to create the Separate tax files. Again this year, the filing separately is the better path. But now, in each Separate file, the comparison to prior year is showing the 2021 Joint scenario. How to do I take these completed separate files and pull in the right Separate file data from 2021?
2nd question: Once you tell me the only way is to start from the original separate 2021 files - then is there a way to export all the 2022 data (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) and import them back into the new file?

I think all you need to do is start a new blank 2022 return and transfer from the separate 2021 file. Do that for each person. You have the good filed separate returns still, right? Ending in .tax2021.
Yes - but then how do I get all the data and answered questions, etc. pulled into the new tax return from the return already created for this year? Seems the only method possible is to re-enter every piece of data and answer every question over again - for each separate return?
Sorry you can only transfer into a new blank return. You can do 2022 without transferring. I didn't quite follow all you did.
