TurboTax Says My Refund is on it's way but the IRS has NO RECORD OF MY TAXES??????

I filed on Feb 13th. Here it is March 11th. I'm not saying I should have received my refund by now... But I what I AM saying is that if TurboTax's website's help assistant is telling me that my Federal Refund is "On it's Way!" but yet the IRS website tells me that it cannot provide any information about my return, and the IRS2Go app tells me that there is no record found...some red flags start to pop up. And apparently I'm not the only one. And all I keep getting is the big run around about how "you need to check this and check that...." "check the IRS.gov website to track your refund..." when I have clearly just told you that it has NO information about my return. I need someone to give me a serious answer... not some programed, "pre-recorded" response. You guys advertise on tv "talk with REAL tax experts," well... okay then, I need some real answers, please.

The IRS told me that I need to talk to the people who prepared my taxes. Which was TurboTax. I have been all over my account on the tax side and all I can seem to find is the help "bot" and it gets me nowhere. Could you please send me in the right direction of who I'm supposed to get in contact with for this? I know obviously it's no one on this forum, but surely someone on here knows who I'm supposed to contact....right? Surely there is someone to contact about stuff like this...right?

If you filed and it was accepted (you received an accepted e-mail) the TurboTax has no further information.

The IRS is running behind due to COVID and a huge amount of early tax returns being filed this year.

They are so delayed that they postponed the filing date from April 15 to May 17.

21 days is not a magic number - it is just an average.

TurboTax only gives the general IRS (most returns are processed within 21 days) date. The actual date is known only by the IRS. TurboTax also does not adjust the general date for anything on the tax return. TurboTax receives no feedback from the IRS after filing.

The IRS says most refunds will be issued within 21 days - some faster, some longer.
(Most means more than half so many take longer - MUCH longer)

Each tax return is evaluated on it's own merits. There is no first-in-first-out. Two similar tax return submitted at the same time can have totally different processing times based on IRS criteria for examining tax returns that the IRS does not divulge.

Some returns will be held for ID verification or other verification. The IRS will send a letter if they require more information to process your tax return.

oh...my...goodness....

All of you guys just keep saying the same thing over and over, to EVERYONE. Look, I know that the IRS is backed up, okay? I'm not a complete idiot... I do know that Covid has slowed down a lot of things. I wasn't even freaking out about not having received my refund yet, okay? THAT was not my issue. If you would have taken some time to maybe actually read my post, you might see that my problem was the fact that I was worried about my taxes not been actually filed. But (no thanks to any of you so called "experts") I finally got in touch with someone with TurboTax today. And oh did I let them know how truly "helpful" you guys really are on here. They quickly helped me with my questions and were very nice and informative.

*****So, anyone else who reads this, if you can't seem to get your questions answered on here...if you just keep getting pulled through circle after circle with these things, I advise you to call TurboTax. Sign in, click on "Help" it'll pull up a "TurboTax Assistant" Chat. Type "Contact Someone" It'll ask some questions and type "Talk to a Specialist," then it'll ask you "before I connect you....blah blah blah..." tell it "no" Answer the rest of the questions about your phone number and your email, write down your support ID (although I found this irrelevant), and call the number they give you (I got eight hundred 624 ninety sixty-six). It will be a fight to get through the automated system...but do NOT give up. And do not fall for the track my refund crap. keep saying "something else" and talk to a representative." When they ask why, do not mention your refund or they will try to send you back to track your refund.

exactly same thing happened to me. Are you saying the real turbotax rep actually answered your question with a reasonable answer? mine didn't tell me anything useful except to wait until the end of April.

My main concern was that I efiled my taxes on 2/21 and got an email saying it's accepted the same day. However now on 3/22 the irs person (yes, how lucky I am to be able to talk to someone at IRS today) told me that they don't have record of my file in their system, and I need to check with turbotax. this really is scary, I don't know if that was a software issue of turbox tax or not. the real turbo tax rep told me nothing but wait even after I told her that the real IRS rep told me there was no record of mine 1 month after I efiled. how frustrated from a real turbotax rep.

Yes, the woman that I talked to was able to confirm that the IRS received my tax return. I tried getting a hold of the IRS and they had told me the same thing, to get in touch with my tax preparer. Every time I checked the "where's my refund" tool, they had nothing on my refund. I just checked tonight...(mind you, I filed 02-13-2021, and got the email from turbotax saying it was accepted the same day) and for the very first time I have a status bar and it says "Received." I'm not sure how long it's been like that, I haven't been checking it very much because honestly I was tired of the disappointment and then the system was down here recently as well. I hope that this helps your situation! I know this is all very frustrating. Nothing about how these past two tax seasons have gone has been anything short of frustrating, on both sides. And the stimulus timing didn't really help matters either... It only further backlogged the IRS with everything they are trying to do. And people are still waiting on those as well... It's a nightmare all the way around. What I DON'T like is people on here, claiming to be experts who don't have any answers other than "cookie cutter" answers that don't even answer your question...

in the same boat atm going through the hoops finally get to a person just to get rushed through the call by him and told I have nothing on file for 2020 while I'm staring at the return it says I have filed fun fun fun

Although the IRS has processed and issued most refunds from e-filed returns around 21 days, due to COVID, CARES Act, stimulus, American Rescue Plan Act and a huge amount of early tax returns being filed this year, some of the returns will require more time to review.

I am having the exact same experience now. Turbotax said my return was on its way and they even gave me a specific refund amount, but the IRS said my return could not be found. Could you tell me what you learned from the TurboTax expert?  Did they explain why the IRS said your return was not found
