Turbo Tax Deluxe will not let me access old returns.

I have used TurboTax Deluxe for the past 7 years consecutively. When I go to log on now, the previous years taxes tab appears briefly then disappears. Nothing I do will allow it to reappear, and it is not selectable. I have tried the following to no avail: used a VPN to change my location, deleted all cookies, deleted cache, reset browser, checked for updates, and tried it on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, nothing works.

 

How do I get access to prior years tax returns? Intuit has all my information for the past 7 years so why can I not access it?

 

Don't tell me to contact the IRS.

Turbo Tax Deluxe will not let me access old returns.

You have to sign onto your online account using the exact same user ID you used to create the online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one).  Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

 

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

 

To access your prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

 

If you still cannot access your account, you can contact TurboTax customer service/support through their contact website during business hours.

Submit your question/problem during business hours and then use the option for Call (a phone number will be provided for Call) to speak directly with a TurboTax agent -

Note:  The Call option will not be available when TurboTax Support is closed.

Turbo Tax Deluxe will not let me access old returns.

I have signed into the exact same account I use every year for the past 7 years. I only have 1 account. I do not use CDs, its all online directly through TurboTax. I do not link to TurboTax from a 3rd party. Recovering the account via the link you provided does nothing, it is just a password reset. I have been able to log in past years so that I can reference prior years returns. This year your system is blocking me. It does show the tab you reference briefly, however it disappears after a few seconds and is not selectable. The only thing that ever happens is the photo you see below. I haven't not started taxes for this year, and I have not selected anything. I also have not logged into TurboTax since last April. See the picture below below to see what I am referring to for what your website does every time. This happens every single time I log in regardless of what is done.

If you have tried other web browsers and have cleared cache and cookies for your web browsers and still are having the issue you have described, then your best bet is to contact TurboTax support for assistance.

 

Support is open from 5am to 5pm Pacific time, Monday thru Friday (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)
