If you filed for a refund but the IRS disagreed to your figures then TT has nothing to do with the processing of the return. The IRS sends a notice to explain the changes so what did they say was wrong ? Did you enter the stimulus advance incorrectly ?
I agree. Same here. If I have to pay them without receiving my refund, then what is the point of that option. Apparently, people choose that option for a reason and the reason is they can't afford to pay it until they receive their money from their refund. I've tried call but that's no luck. The only reason I choose turbo was because of Uber but this is the 2nd year I've had an issue ever since I've used them. I've never had any issue with other tax services so this will be my last and final year with using turbo tax.
Exactly! What interest do they have in helping me after they got their cut? I started using turbo tax because it was $25. Now it’s over $100. I have a simple return. I feel like this company gets worse every year to the point that I’m afraid what will happen with my return.

For Filing Season 2021, you must make $72,000 or below to use one of the 10 IRS Free File partner offers.
Put a stop payment for that amout
Or just not have enough in the account and the debit will be refused ... either way there will be a fee charged by your bank.
Yeah same thing happened to me. They should get paid when the refund is sent. They lost a customer and I’ll be telling everyone I know not to use their services because this is bs
I filed May the and have no updates. And when they respond they will give u a one time my deductible was scheduled fo r June 30th day extension for July 30th then will repeat the same process. Then my bank returned the fees since my return has not hit then low and behold I get a refund date of August 4 the after turbo tax couldn't get they fee. So I believe even if I paid before you received your refund they would charge u again anyway that's how the account is set up they straight scamming and the bank kick back I hope doesn't mess up the refund have to call back tmw.
Won't be using turbo tax again after this year. Not for the people.
You do not have to use TurboTax ever again if you do not want to. But you need to be aware that no matter what tax software program you choose to use in the future ---- when you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there will always be a fee for that choice, and there will always be a stipulation that you have to pay your fees within an allotted amount of time whether your refund arrives or not. So avoid that situation. Pay your software fees upfront.
And next time---see if you qualify to use any of the free filing services offered on the IRS site:

The problem with this is there was no deadline proposed and on my receipt if I am paying in advance now it should not be charging the extra $40 to have ot taken off refund. That's where they messed up because I was able to present such to my bank... they are reversing it due to that fact that they are still trying to charge me the fee for taking it from my refund...
Doesn't matter if IRS is the one delaying refund. We were never given a deadline and that's not our problem. Cost of doing business... glad they made the mistake of trying to charge the additional fee... I only gave them my account number to deposit funds... not take them bc IRS is backed up. That's fraud...
Look at your bill. They still charging the fee to deduct from refund. It cost less to pay up front and they didn't make that adjustment. My bank is covering me fortunately and blocking them. They are going to wait just like me whether they like it or not... lol... they made that one mistake...
No it is not fraud ... when you agreed to the refund processing service (twice in the program) you DID give them permission to withdraw the fee if the refund was grabbed for an offset OR the refund was delayed.
Before they debit they send 4 separate email alerts over a 3 week period to explain the situation and to offer a way to delay the debit ... read those email instructions carefully.
First see this FAQ on what you are experiencing.
FAQ: Why was my bank account auto-debited for the TurboTax fees?
If their auto-debits have caused you to incur overdraft/non-sufficient fees (NSF fees), you have some recourse for the overdraft fees. You will have to talk to Support to inform them of the situation and get an Incident Number from the person who takes your report, then see this FAQ:

I am in the same situation. We pay for this type of services yet TurboTax is not doing anything about it.
