Or try to find a Windows computer. The .tax files can be opened by both the Windows and Mac programs. But you would have to install the 2014 program which might be impossible. Even if you have the CD you wouldn't be able to update the program or download any states you need. Unless you know someone with 2014 still installed on Windows.
Or try www.taxprinter.com . They say they can convert 2014 to pdf. They are not related to Turbo Tax and it does cost. You send them the .tax2014 file.

Thanks, VolvoGirl. It looks like only taxprinter.com would work for me now. I'm not trying to print for submitting, just for records to give a tax preparer. I can transfer the info I need another way, so I'll save my $80. But I appreciate your help finding out why it doesn't work. I also agree with some replies to your 2019 posts saying TurboTax should continue supporting prior years, but that's a forlorn hope I'm afraid.
Go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
Thanks, Critter-3. Unfortunately my problem is that I didn't file my return for 2014, so there's no transcript.
I was trying to complete inputting essential info in the return and print out a copy to give to a tax professional who's helping me resolve this issue. Unfortunately I've found through other replies that I cannot longer print 2014 from a Mac, nor save it as a PDF or even open the forms tab, and I can't find anyone with 2014 on a Windows machine.
Because of this I have little choice but to submit a late return thorough another person. But thanks for your reply and info.
I've run into another problem with my problem. I installed TurboTax 2014 on a Windows machine, and transferred my return from my Mac to that machine, but it won't open on the Windows machine without downloading the state software.
I have that on my Mac but it seems like it's no longer available for online download. Any ideas? I need Minnesota and Wisconsin. thanks.
No sorry you're stuck.
