TPG is holding funds, TT unable to be reached

Please stop posting these unhelpful responses, TT employees! We have called you and you misdirect us, blame us for these shortages and send us running in circles making things worse. Can't you see how upsetting this is for us? I've been a TT customer for a decade and never had an issue before. This year, TPG's THEFT of my hard earned money has been devastating for myself, my family and countless others are going through this same thing. TT is either complicit or plain heartless to offer us zero help during this time. This is unconscionable behavior. Why won't you put your efforts towards helping the customers who trusted you? Help us get OUR money back instead of trolling message boards. HELP US!

I agree with you . I have received a check from Santa Barbra Tax Product Group 3/28/22. The check wouldn’t cash . At the cash checking the agent asked if I verified a check 3 hours ago . I replied no , I just literally received it from mailman. I called the phone number on check to speak with representative but no answer. The next day I called & there was a different check date affiliated with the check . I ran to try to cash it they said it was already verified & they would have to print another check . How a IRS REFUND  CHECK has so many issues . I have see TPG has had this refund since March 2 . IRS has release it the company has been keeping it for 2 months . 3/29/22 I sent indemnity bond to receive a “new” check . I sent my  information : Id , Social security card , and voided check. No update . 4/13/22 they ask me to write on the form 3/07/22 BUT the checks real date 3/18/22 . I spoke to agent Intuit & TPG they told me It hasn’t been processed at All. They wanted me to Edit the form . I put the check amount ( same amount IRS finds your account / without fees) BUT THEY WANT YOU TO PUT THE AMOUNT WITH THEIR FEE left OUT  . I feel this company is being callous and not transparent. The practices are deceptive. If a check has a date on it / that is it’s date . My check date was 3/18/22 . They had their fees taken out since they first got the check & I believe they are being deceptive . I am going through financial hardship . I want my full refund

Hi Jeniffer, Im going thru the exact same situation. Did you got any resolution? I’ve been waiting a week now and the only answer I get from their agents is that they do have the money but don’t know when they are going to release, that they don’t have that information, that’ll just have to wait. I’m extremely upset and desperate here.

Turbo was already sued recently by the FTC.

I received my letter stating why there was an adjustment to my return. After the irs made their adjustment and sent the new amount to tpg. Tpg deposited only 2/3 of the refund. Tpg is holding $2,330 without any explanation. Is there any way to get ahold of anyone to find out why they are holding my funds? Unfortunately as  hard working single parent in this environment I need that money ASAP.

I believe an attorney is in order. I have done research into this matter and it seems to be happening to thousands of tax payers at the very least. I filed a complaint with the ooffice of comptroller already. I will be contacting the attorney general in FL, TX, UT, and CA. Those are the states that Santa Barbara Tax Products Group and their parent company GreenDot/Bonneville Bank are based out of. I urge others to do the same. TPG stole millions of dollars from Tax Payers with the assistance of TurboTax and the IRS. Their phones are on a constant busy tone. GreenDot will not assist or give corporate info to resolve matter. This is a federal crime being committed.

@Bridget668   I agree! This has been frustrating just to get a update. I spoke to intuit & TPG . I was to fix the form check date ( not the check date my check had but when they @Jeffw83 received the check ) and change the amount of the check ( check$  without their fee) . I was suppose to receive a confirmation. No confirmation. No update . These people are lying . I will do the same !

Out of every comment I came across on this thread, this has to be one of the TOP comments that needs to be pinned. How dare we continue to cause ourselves more stress of running in circles behind some sh*t we haven’t caused?! I’m furious!!!! 🤬 I have yet to receive my refund and it’s going on 3 months. This is absurd and disheartening. So many ppl are counting on their hard earned money and can’t even get it. So soooo sad. These people need to be held accountable. Everyone in involved as a matter of fact! This is fraud at its finest. 🙏🏾

I'm pretty sure you are not stating the truth. Heres the deal I contacted TPG they had the audacity to ask me for the routing number and account number the IRS sent the entire amount of my refund to. When does the IRS divulge any bodies acct. number and routing # . I'm sure intuit is getting something out of this and i'm sure the FCC,BBB,SEC and the US Attorney will find out shame on you people blatantly stealing.

I've been on hold for 2 days over one hour I want my money this is sick I been calling irs for 5 months and this TPG been holding my money im furious!! Nobody is responding to my emails or picking up the phones !

@lacallahan Nope! I opted to have it sent back to the IRS. I’m done with the roller coaster games related to these people. It’s been literally 3 months for me. I wish I would fill out another form, so they can fraudulently deduct more funds from my refund. And keep spinning me in circles. Absolutely not!

Leave a detailed complaint with BBB. TPG will have 14 days to respond. If they do not then BBB can guide you to other options of what is needed. Don’t bother with calling, most won’t know what to say other than they “don’t know” and that they “already sent it back”. Good luck!
