Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

There was an error in our Federal, we went back and corrected. But it carried the error to the state forms. How can I access the forms to fix it?

We know which box needs to be unchecked, but how can we access the actual form to go in and fix it?

Use the "Delete a Form" feature to locate and delete any forms in your federal or state tax returns related to that second home office causing the error.  Here's how to do that in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select the dropdown arrow next to Tax Tools and then underneath that Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Scroll down the page and look for forms for that second home office you originally entered.  Be sure to look in both the federal and state return.
  5. Select Delete next to any home office forms for that second home office and confirm the deletion.

You cannot access the forms directly with TurboTax Online.  But, when you make the change in the federal tax return, the change should "flow" to the state tax return.

More information about the error and the box that needs to be unchecked may help resolve your issue.

Hey thanks. Yes for some reason it isn't "flowing" into the states. It's remaining there. Box 16b. (We accidentally entered two home offices for federal, then realized our mistake and deleted the second office). But now all the state forms keep coming back to us with questions about the second office. They will not "accept" leaving it blank, or putting 0 value... and we see above in the form (you can scroll when it is showing you the answer) the box that should be checked "yes" instead of no, but we can't ever get to it.
