Should I be concerned? I received an email that indicates my federal tax return was accepted but there is nothing on the federal site.

There is no need to be concerned; this is not uncommon. Accepted in TurboTax just means that they have received your return. That is the status of your return; not your refund. The next step would be for the government to review/process your return and approve your refund. Until they actually start reviewing and processing your returns, their systems will have no record of it. Processing time can vary. Patience is virtue.
They generally ask that you allow between 24-48 hours for an update on Where's My Refund site. Sometimes it can take longer if they are working on a backlog of returns. They no longer provide updates to TurboTax once they accept your return.
You can use the IRS Where's My Refund site for the latest status on your federal tax refund.
And you can use your State Department of Revenue's website to check status of state tax refund. Choose your state here How do I track my state refund? and it will give you steps to track the status.
