The IRS sent me a notice that they did not receive my tax return, but TurboTax says it was filed. How do I resolve this?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
What tax year is the IRS notice referring to?
2020.
To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Mail the return to the address listed in the IRS notice you received.
There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.
Please consider using a tracking service through the US Post Office so you will have confirmation that the IRS actually received the tax return.
Thank you. I can do all that, but I paid to have the return e-filed. And if the service wasn't provided, I will need a refund. I would love to talk to someone, but it appears that's not possible with TurboTax. I went to online help and when I requested to be connected via phone, the chat ended. I tried calling, but there was no option to speak to someone. I am unable to find an email contact anywhere. Do you know where I can go to request a refund for e-filing?

When you used the TurboTax online editions there are no e-file fees for either a federal or state tax return. The TurboTax account fees are for the use of the software to assist in completing your tax return. The fees are the same whether the tax return is e-filed or printed and mailed.
