This has got to be the BIGGEST SCAM and most unpublicized act of thievery in the history of United states! Turbo Tax for some unknown reason decided they were going to hold my tax return for two years and take fees out of my return of over 600 hundred dollars and then send my $11,000 dollar refund on March 1st 2023 to a "TPG CASH CARD" in which is associated with the GREENDOT CORPORATION. HOWEVER, when contacting GREENDOT corporation , the rep begin to advise me that she has never heard of a "TPG CASH CARD" and that no such deposit was every made in my name or in that amount. Furthermore, the IRS specifically told me that the money went to a CEVISTA BANK and gave me the routing number and account number of that deposit. When I called CEVISTA BANK, they were very rude and unprofessional and told me that they have no record of it either that I needed to contact the "sbtpg" customer support line but when I did that, the automated system told me that they only deal with "current" year tax returns. So in a nutshell, we as the tax payers are supposed to just eat the money and forget about cause everyone is playing dumb and acting like they know nothing. The constant hang ups and dropped calls from everybody I have talked to is making me think that something is going on and they don't want to talk about it. Justice will be served eventually and I will take my case to the box I promise you that!

I have a very similar experience with my 2020 tax return. First it took til Jan 2021 to receive my refund. It was deposited into credit carma account and then immediately disappeared into an account I cannot access. I reach out to credit carma. They tell me to contact turbo tax. Which tells me to contact credit carma. Needless to say credit carma shut my account down. And I’ve yet to locate my refund. However turbo tax got their fees
@Cariokee TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return. Your refund did not go to TurboTax. TurboTax does not touch or handle your refund at all. You had issues with Credit Karma and perhaps with the third party bank that handles refund processing---if you chose to pay your TurboTax fees by having those fees deducted from your refund.

You say that the account for the direct deposit (the Credit Karma account?) was closed before you got your refund. If the direct deposit was issued to a wrong or closed account, the refund is sent back to the third party bank. The third party bank sends you a check and mails it to the address on your tax return, or they send the refund back to the IRS and the IRS issues a check and mails it to you. Make sure the mailing address you used on your tax return is the correct address.
